I object to this behavior!

This isn't rampant sexism ... people will slap sarge regardless of his sex.

I want the rampant sexism I was promised. Naughty rampant sexism, with toys ...

It's not an orange we gravelers are holding up.

Lorena Bobbitt has joined the Watch!

Run fellas, run!

Nice one dANdeLION.

Or to put it another way:
How to impress a woman: wine her, dine her, call her, hug her, surprise her, compliment her, smile at her, laugh with her, cry with her, romance her, believe in her, cuddle her, shop with her, give her presents, bring her flowers, hold her hand, write love letters to her, go to the ends of the Earth and back for her.

How to impress a man: Arrive naked. Bring pizza and beer.

Now, you've got me wrong there. I'd be more than happy with a naked man who brings pizza and beer!

Um, but does anyone care about the graveler of Stonemight Woodhelven? You know, the Illearth-addicted woman in the green dress who almost sacrificed Covenant? There is no basis for thinking that being a graveler or an eh-brand was connected to gender.

* Total number of known gravelers: 4 (Sunder, Sunder's unnamed apprentice who would have become a graveler after him, Hollian's dad, the aforementioned graveler of Stonemight Woodhelven)

* Total number of known eh-brands: 1 (Hollian)

I may have forgotten someone, but I think that won't change anything. I think the situation in the Land in the Second Chronicles was that practically everyone magical in the villages was a graveler, whether male or female, and only rare few were eh-brands, and those the Clave would try to get sacrificed on trumped-up justifications. So I think it's likely that Hollian was the only eh-brand in the Land at the time.

New suggestion: Women are Lords (like Elena) and men are Cattleherds (like Triock). :) ;)

Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah, I know. :P ;)

I was thinking that when I made them, but I thought the Sunder = Graveler and Hollian = Eh-brand connection was good enough.

But like I said before a couple of times already:
No one gave me any better ideas. So tough.
I mean, it's not like SRD has many sexist roles in his series... (Does he have any?) What else could I possibly use that would have a SRD theme? I think it's good enough, and the icons look good, so I'm sticking with it for now. :P But if you can think of a better idea, then just let me know.

It'd be easier if this was a Wheel of Time message board (god help me). That series is just filled with rampant sexism. Heh.-jay

Excellent points, Nerdanel.

On the list of Neat & Useless Stuff On Kevin's Watch I'd like to see implemented by the Admin Gods, this gender icon thing ranks pretty low. Or maybe it's more correct to say that it ranks pretty high. Whatever. :P

I've got my beloved brown scheme back anyway, and that's all that really matters. Useless to others, but useful to me. :)
