That was a pretty good game as far as losses go, and next week is the biggest game of our season, I wonder if they just might pull one out and squeak by the Steelers.

The Browns can drive a stake in the heart of the Steelers fading playoff hopes. No doubt that is their intention, and I look for the Browns to play inspired football. I think they'll win. (I hope not!)

Dawgs get a bone. Way to go Browns. Good game Steelers, Steelers fans I know you probably dont want any advice from a Browns fan, but consider this. Dont take this loss too hard, how many rings do you guys have? Take it from someone who knows alot more about losing than you , it can get way worse than this.

Its impossible to even begin to speculate until the arrival of the "Czar", and then the decision will no doubt be left up to him. Mangini deserves a shot, and good coaches arent exactly lining up to come here. Really what have we got to lose?

Well Holmgren, and the Browns seem to be close to a deal, SEEM to be close to a deal, but Im too much of a Browns fan to hope for anything . Im not really sure how I feel about this. The so called experts, and analysts, say that if hired "The Big Show"'s first order of buisness will be to fire Eric Mangini. First of all I dont believe its fair to hand someone a task as monumental as rebuilding the Cleveland Browns, and then only give them one year to do so.
Second, we were gonna suck anyway. You cant blame Mangini for the fact that Braylon Edwards was no longer willing to catch footballs in Cleveland, although he seemed perfectly willing to cash his game checks, to feed Donte Stallworth booze the night before he ran over and killed a pedestrian, and beat up Lebron's little buddy. Nor can you blame him for the aquisition of either of our stellar QB's, that blame goes to Phil Savage (former GM).
Third the coach in question just used a roster of back ups, and practice squad players to beat the teams Arch rivals . Six years these fans, myself included have waited in humiliation to actually compete with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Something that Romeo Crennel had never managed to do in 4 years as the Head Coach.
Mike Holmgren has a chance to help this franchise return to greatness, if he takes the job in Cleveland, I hope he demonstrates his leadership ability by showing patience . The players are responding to Mangini's Methods, the culture is changing, but these types of changes dont happen quickly. Holmgren could further change the culture of the team by showing a little faith in them, and their leader.

I have actually read (on discussion boards) a good deal of support for Mangini and his need for a few years to raise a sunken ship...his biggest problem, imo, is his lack of a bona fide QB. The Browns are a much better team now than they were at the start of this season. If a high profile like Holgrem steps in, that may actually be Mangini's best chance, if he interviews well, to keep his job.

Well Holmgren has already stated that he likes Mangini, and believes him to be a good coach, that said he also eludes to the fact that once you are in the front office you cant make decisions based on anything other than what you feel is best for the team, and what gives you the best chance to win.
As a Cleveland sports fan this might be considered the most pivotal moment in the history of Cleveland sports, and could have an effect on everything from the future of the Browns, to whether, or not Lebron stays with the Cavs. It could change the way the entire sports world looks at Cleveland.
It cuts both ways though. If Holmgren comes to Cleveland great, we get a new look make over , if he decides against coming to the Browns it will just be another nail in the coffin. If he doesnt come he will further cement Cleveland's image as a place where the athletes tend to flee, as soon as they get the chance.

Well its official there is a new Brown in town. Mike Holgren has joined the Browns as team president, and his responsibilities will not include coaching. There has been no announcement on the fate of Mangini, which is probably for the best. Im still hoping they decide to give him at least one more season, if they tried to fire him right now there might be riots on the streets of Cleveland.

So the stage has been set for the greatest battle of the worst QB's ever. This sunday in Cleveland the Browns, host the Raiders, and there is more at stake, than just basement bragging rights as Charlie Frye ( former Browns QB, now with the Raiders) faces off against Derek Anderson ( ..er former Browns QB, now thanks to Quinns injury current Browns QB). Excited yet ? No? Well just wait for it. How about now? Ok sorry I asked.
