It certainly has a deep impression for me. I quoted that from memory, and when I feel stressed out or bored or sad, I quote it to myself to remind myself of the importance of beauty and hope. I actually was surprised that it wasn't already quoted in the first 3 1/2 pages of this thread.

So many come to mind. The one I took for my .sig here, of course, but also "Desecration can be survived or healed, but not denied."

There are so many quotes, many of my favourites already mentioned. Covenant's 3 and 2 word story with Saltheart has always stuck with me.

But " NOM" was the one I waited and waited for. And it is still awesome.

I was always a great fan of:

I always loved TC's insouciance here; he's so much more sassy for his second confrontation with Foul

I've always liked SRD's ability to say volumes with only a few (or one) words. So, two of my favorites are the one word responses that Covenant gives to Lord Foul in their final confrontation in The Power That Preserves. As Lord Foul is taunting him, asking him how he can continue to care and fight in the face of his unbelief, Covenant replies:

"Nevertheless."

and

"Still."

Volumes in one word.

After reading some of these it brings back the feelings after I read them...
Like when Covenant says "Nom". I agree. The suspense was killling me and the result was only a page away, of course it had to be at the end of the chapter. And then he repeats it in WGW to bring down the gates of Revelstone.

And lastly Linden says it to bring Nom to the land in FR. You never know what'll happen when Nom shows up and I'm sure he'll be back.

One that I always remember for some reason is "We are the Bloodguard. We...suffice." And when I first read it I of course didn't know just how much they suffice.

And of course..."Be true, you need not fail." Or just "Be True".

"By the Seven!" It just never gets old.

I've already had a crack at this thread, but recently, during one of my many re-reads, I was rather moved by this passage in TOT, which takes place shortly after Brinn and Cail had been seduced by the merewives :

TC : 'I'll tell you why. Maybe no Vow or promise is the answer to Despite - but neither is abdication. He (Bannor) just said, "Redeem my people. Their plight is an abomination. And they will serve you well."'
Then he stopped. He could not go on. he understood too well the extremity of the man he faced. For a moment Saltroamrest was silent except for the labour of the dromond's pumps, the creaking of the masts, the muffled fury of the seas and wind. The lanterns continued to sway vulnerably. Seadreamer's eyes burned at the Haruchai as if he sensed a strange hope in their intractable self-judgement.
At last, Brinn spoke. He sounded almost gentle. 'Ur-Lord, have we not served you well?'
Covenant's features contorted in breavement. But he made a fierce effort, forced himself to reply, 'You know you have'.
Brinn did not flinch or hesitate. 'Then let it end.'

Also, the sheer depravity of the Kemper revealed during this monologue tickles me :

'In truth, I did not expect her to succeed .... Better for you if she had - but you are clearly beyond her. Yet for her failure perhaps I should have punished her, as men have ever punished women. She is a tasty wench withal, and knowledgeable. But that is no longer in me ... In time past it was otherwise. Then the gaddhi drew his Favoured from those who had first sated me... But latterly that pleasure comes to me solely through observation of the depraved ruttings of others in the chamber below. Therefore almost I hoped that you would succumb. For the unction it would have given me ... But that is a juicless pleasure ...'

And finally:

"Thomas Covenant." The Giant spoke like the murmuring of a mountain. With gentle courtesy, as if he were moved by the sight of Covenant's tears, he bowed.

I had to go look it up in The Wounded Land and got misty eyed, just typing it. Covenant had his raw moments, yes, but let no one ever doubt that he loved the Giants.

Mhoram must be my favorite character, and so it's only fitting that this quote comes from him. I'm going by memory here, but I believe it's when his ghost confronts Covenant. "Despite has named you his enemy, but remember that he always seeks to deceive you." There is so much wisdom in that statement, not only towards the story but it seems to apply itself to reality as well.

Also, "Nom" is most certainly a quote to remember.

Just read the chapter in FR where Linden sews the patch on the Mahdoubt's robe. I don't exactly know why but for me the Mahdoubt's voice-- "Assuredly."-- is probably the most vivid of all the characters in the series except Thomas Covenant's. I love that whole chapter, it is masterful and transformational.
