The fact that MOM is reading this has nothing to do with the statement at all I'm sure!! ;)

Just kidding!!

Kudos to you kid! :D
nope, the fact that MOM is reading has nothing to do with it at all. its the truth. I WOULD have said it all, even if she hadn't been reading.

thank you.

Have you seen West Wing?

What?!

MARY
Condoms in the schools.

TOBY
Well, that's a problem.

MARY
What?

TOBY
[raising his voice] We have a Surgeon General who says they dramatically reduce the risk of teen pregnancy and AIDS.

MARY
So does abstinence.

VAN DYKE
Show the average American teenage male a condom and his mind will turn to thoughts of lust.

Show the average American teenage male a lug wrench and his mind'll turn...

The thought did cross my mind. But I'd like to think that she would have said it even if I wasn't reading it.

I could be delusional, of course....
I remember once, as a older teenager, comming home drunk and sick, shortly after a breakup from a girlfried, my mom didn't get upset at me for being drunk...instead she grabbed to oppertunaty to basically interview me about my sex-life.

They were saying that condoms in school are bad, because the sight of a condom makes teen males think of sex. No condoms visible, no sexual desires. Toby was saying a lug wrench, or anything else, makes teen males think of sex.

*shaking head*

...my mom was either even more naive and gullible than I am, or decided not to push the issue when I would baldly lie to her face regarding my sex life while I was still under her roof...

You guys never, as a teen, had you flag pole raised just by a girl walking by?

I'm 40 now and that reaction is beginning to seem pretty extraordinary as time goes on!

Oh come on HLT, The 40 Year Old Boner is much wiser and more skillful than The Teenaged Dork of Doom (aka Quick-Draw McGraw).

You guys are mean, and gross!!! I applaud Lord Foul for retaining a precious thing:
something meant to be given as a gift (from Lord Foul's Bane)
LF, you can only give it away once. I realize you may not see your virginity in that way, but try it. See it as something you OWN.

Okay, the 40 year old whatever... I'm on the downside towards 50 now, and it just keeps getting better. I shudder to think of what I settled for at seventeen. THAT was gross. 20 years of marriage makes you and your spouse experts on each others' physique and responses. Those louts I let have their way with me!! What was I thinking?? ... oh yeah, wasn't.

Bad guys really do get the most girls
NICE guys knew it, now two studies have confirmed it: bad boys get the most girls. The finding may help explain why a nasty suite of antisocial personality traits known as the "dark triad" persists in the human population, despite their potentially grave cultural costs.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

Too true.

And lends to romatic seduction scenes like.

"wanna go do it?"
"ok."

Oh my! I just spent a good 20 minutes reading every post in this thread! True instant classic HLT!!!

And stutty...don't forget the other possible response in a 20 year relationship:

"I have a headache."
To which I say "sex is a great cure for a headache, at least my headache, anyway."
