the dates are now .. a week somewhere between the 24th July and the 5th August!! so far thats the nearest indication i have!
what do we do at an elohimfest??? we do what ever the hooly we like
nah just kidding .. but seriously .. its just a get together and as we cant afford to make it a roving elohimfest .. we will probably only be able to visit 2 locations! So who knows where the most awesome locations that LotR's was filmed .. especially where Rohan was filmed?? cos I'm thinking they would make awesome visiting locations! and possible venues!
I dunno .. its just a casual low-key get-together .. an elohimfest is just a gathering of .. umm .. elohim
We thought that we could have a bbq in Oz before we leave and then probably go to Aukland first and move south .. We want to hook up with as many Watch-folk as we can .. but time, money and resources are limited.
As the time gets closer we will have a better idea of dates and locations .. but any kiwis out there .. if you know particularly good gathering locales please post them!!
It will greatly assist in drawing up an itinerary!

Good locations? off the top of my head i can think of Matamata cum hobbiton, its about 2-3 hours drive from Auckland. Will go into the bookstore today and read the lotr locations guidebook for some ideas:D

Mmmmmmm, flights from Christchurch to Wellington are only $29 at the moment, so flights to Auckland can't be that expensive. Maybe Auckland will do.

lets start by confirming who would wish to attend, the rough dates that would suit them, and the locations that would suit them.

Weekend in July or August
Auckland, Hamilton, Rotorua possibly is as far south as i could make it.

I'd like to go, as would Julie (the wife). Any weekend other than 10-11 and 17-18 July would suit. It's our 15th wedding anniversary and so we're off to Fiji.
Obviously for us Wellington would be best, but we can go anywhere. If we have to fly, it would be nice to know fairly early so that we can book the cheaper flights.

Well. A assumed I'd be able to afford it. But I moved into my new flat, and that knocked all my finances outta wack.
