Thanks, Cambo. Another of my favourite Watchers, though we haven't traded posts in a while.

Where I come from there's a box of sweets called Double Centres, I think I'd like Double Off-Centres even better

Seriously though, I think I'm just adjusting to a bit of 'Tank culture shock.' Genuinely surprised by some of the views in there sometimes.
Heh, try reading back on some Rusmeister's posts in Abortion and Gay Marriage threads, he often shocked even the most Conservative Current posters.
Rusmeister would often claim that politcally he was neither right nor left. Nevertheless, he was so convinced that he was right, that he left! That's meant somewhat affectionately, given the nature of the thread. I actually kinda miss the guy.

Yeah, I kind of miss him, too.

Not enough to try to fetch him back, mind you. ;)

Yeah, I like rus too (I doubt he's very far away. He likes us too you know!)

I loved the way he kept overturning our assumptions. For me, this is always valuable because any consensus has to be based on common assumptions or premises and those should be tested and questioned regularly so that true openness remains a reality.

Awww, sounds cute... he did leave his e-mail address y'know. I've mailed him once and heard back from him.

Sure, he's said he's not especially interested in random socializing, and sure it's hard for many of us to even exchange holiday greetings without tensions beginning... ;)

(S'pose that does make it kinda tricky.) *shrug*

Btw, I liked this comment a lot... reminds me of a "longer version" of the "Serenity prayer" that I've seen. ("actual" one, not parody. :D )

Also, Ananda, when I saw those pictures of your town, and read what you wrote about various laws, (no blocking access to nature!!!) I felt myself turning a little green! (green with envy, that is)

Doesn't that sunrise avatar burn your eyeballs when it's 3 times in a row?

Here in the category of potentially-socially-awkward-and-norm-defying but fairly-justifiable social behavior, we have... Exhibit A: my triple-posting phenomenon!

So, as it turns out, spioler tags doesn't work on images and emoticons on this board? I never knew that before. Well, you can fist clench me anyway if this post is full of too many stupid images or usage of emoticons.

I found my DS, which I thought was lost, about 2 weeks ago

Holsety,

For your amusement, "DS" is an oft-used internet abbreviation for "dear son"...
Fortunately, I've read enough posts of yours that imply that Holsety-children is a hypothetical future possibility you're not precisely considering any time soon...
so my reaction was confusion rather than "oh my, he lost his kid... but now he's found him!"

That's a whole lot of eyes... reminds me of a line from a song in a story...
"or the beholder may die..."
Get it? "beholder"?

I'm finding the pictures and emoticons amusing rather than annoying, but you clearly put some of this on the wrong thread! ;)

*shakes fis-*
umm, ermmm... nevermind about that last bit.

Interesting. I don't believe I've ever seen that usage before.
