I never heard that it happened. And I have no memory whatsoever of having made that post.

There were tentative plans with Romeo for a potential meet during Covid lockdown, nothing ever came of it. Yet.

LOL, congrats, you have indeed succeeded. Think of it as a combination live Watch chat and mini-forum.

I think the ChatBane was before your time on the old Watch, but it's a similar (but better and more organisable) thing. Really designed more for synchronous communication, but asynchronous works almost as well.

As a guide to anyone else who may encounter the same problem, what happened was that once I'd made up my account - and at that point it naturally signs you in/ takes you in to the site - and then signed out for the first time, on my second visit it refused to accept my automatically populated name and password. It flipped me around between odd little messages of refusal and demanding that I demonstrate my humanity (by which point was becoming somewhat thin anyway).

I went around in circles with this for a day or two, but finally (and by pure chance) cleared my name (as automatically populated) and put in my email address instead. My password I left as the automatic population set it and bingo - I was in.

Much ado about nothing.

Don't expect to see much of me over there Sky. I'm a little long in the tooth to change my ways and (if you hadn't noticed ) not much of what I say can easily be fitted into one sentence!

But it's nice - really nice - to know that if the worst happened, I'd have a means to keep in contact with you guys. Odd bedfellows we might be, but you all mean a lot to me in your own different ways.

Posts on the Discord can be a lot longer than one sentence. I’ve seen whole articles quoted in a post.

There’s also the back up forum, although I seem to have misplaced the url. I’m sure @Avatar could remind us of what it is.

But the Discord is fun for more rapid interaction when time zones mesh up.

I look forward to seeing you over there on occasion.
