I stand by my wisdom and knowledge posts here...Some of them originals of mine, albeit influenced by various philosophies and philosophers, and some of the stand-along snippets of knowledge I came up with without any influence of anything or anybody. Take them for what they are...journeys in side the soul, the spirit, and much more...

good day,

I don't know about others, but whatever makes me happy is how I nurture my inner garden. I feel that this may be the one, brief bit of awareness I'll ever have, and then nothing after death. So I think my key to life is to enjoy it as much as possible. Not party or get drunk or do countless bungee jumps. Just enjoy the small things, ya know. Every little facet.
Took me years to figure that one out. A child's laughter. A red tulip shining in the sun. A book that makes you say "Damn! That's good!". A surprise kiss from a man you care about. Giggling with a friend. All very simple things, and all of them make life worth living, no matter how much pain you sometimes have to endure.
Love as thou wilt.

*Durris paces by, hands folded into opposite sleeves, gazing alternately far to the horizon--Haruchai farsightedness, ya know?--and down at the path, looking like a recombination of a Benedictine and a Karma-pa...then finds a medium-size rock and sits down in an effortless double lotus. Whatever that barely-audible repeated recitation is, it isn't the Vow, not this century.*

Some of us feline types prefurr to curl up on a rock and sleep in the sun all day! 8)

Per: a few individuals that are causing a little bit of a stir on KW I decided that my morning surf be dedicated to 'tolerence'. This quote isn't the be-all-end-all but it does slap around a few points. Anyway this guy on Okatu.dairyland said this back in September:

Nik wrote:I hadn't been sure what to write about to start this thing off but tonight I was thinking about a specific issue quite a bit. Often you hear people complaining that whilst people are free to believe whatever they want they shouldn't impose their views on others. This is a pretty odd view (even if it is common), because of course this means imposing the view that imposing views on others is wrong! When you (rightly) ban homophobia you are imposing a certain set of beliefs (tolerance, equality) on other people, like it or not.

People shouldn't pretend that they aren't imposing their views when they insist on respecting the views of others. They are, but the thing is it's ok because the views and beliefs that they are imposing upon are wrong. Bigotry, homophobia, sexism etc are evils and should be stamped out. Tolerence, respect for others and diversity are good things and should be promoted. Instead of pretending that all views are equal people should fight unashamedly for a better world.
The 15 year old Webster's that I have at my disposal right now defines 'tolerate' as such,

to bear, sustain...to lift up...1. to not interfere with; allow; permit [to tolerate heresy] 2. to recognize and respect (others' beliefs, practices, etc.) wthout sharing them. 3. to bear, or put up with (someone or something not especially liked) 4. Med. to have tolerance for (a specific drug. etc)

#3 is what I seriously need to work on today and I would greatly appreciate your input to achieve some level of peace of mind. :?

Here we have run afoul of the burning question of tolerance. What is tolerance? Is it the battle cry of the weak and oppressed? Is it a caramel filled candy bar? Is it a social component that we should all strive to incorporate into our collective psyche? Do I generally ask too many questions without providing a sensible personal opinion? Are my questions a gateway into my own thoughts? Who the heck am I talking too? Man its nice in here, the colors, the furnishings. I’m very comfortable. Ahhhhhh…..
