I find myself touching the White Gold throughout the day and thinking about the power it displayed in the Chronicles. Wouldn't it be great.....
yes, but back to reality......
It reminds me that there is a POWER inside each of us, that is a power that we have, to make another human being feel better maybe or to shine a little light on a dark place for them, or help them in some way today.....
to overcome some part of myself that is not so nice or kind or good and make IT a little better. The White Gold reminds me to fight against the Despiser in me, and it reminds me that I CAN WIN! It is just a token, but a powerful one. I'm glad I got it and I will wear it forever because it speaks to me every time I touch it, which is almost constantly.
I'm glad I got the chance to let Stephen Donaldson know what his work has done for me personally, besides wonderful entertainment.

Exactly, that's why I ideally wanted "the power that preserves" on mine. That's what "the power that preserves" means to my mind, in addition to just wild magic. It's what Covenant found inside himself, that we can all find.

Right Cov, I like that. I like the feeling I get when I touch the White Gold and am reminded. I'm glad you posted that. Sometimes the right words are so perfectly uplifting.......like White Magic

It arrived. They told me three weeks, it came in nine days. Argos is obviously not
quite the home of Despite I believed. Now there are two of us with
offical Kevin's Watch white gold rings

Something so small yet such a powerful reminder ....
just a token, but contains volumes of wisdom....or does it trigger or unlock the door to inner wisdom and power.......hmmmm....doesn't hurt to enjoy a bit of fantasy, huh? And ....
well, anyway, I like feeling it there, and I like thinking about the "wild magic"

And only a short time before Runes arrived at his door

Wow!
Newbie here (me) wants one too. Hmm. Maybe something to ask for as a Christmas present? Or I could just check around jewelry stores - we got some pretty cheap stuff here.
"Be true" would be awesome.

Hail and welcome, Saera. Yes, there is something special about wearing white gold, and being reminded of its power--or the power it triggered --or both. It's a good feeling touching it throughout the day ---and night.
"Be True" is a good quote. I had "One Heart" put on mine, for that is what I believe Linden and Thomas shared, and what those who love the land both then and now share, including the "Watchers".
I hope you get your white gold soon.

That's beautiful too.
You can't have very long inscriptions usually, right?
Oh! You've got "My heart has room that sigh with dust.." quotes in your sig. Wonderful. I'd love to have that whole song in a ring, but I think it's quite impossible unless your fingers are.. really big.

It's hard to choose just a word or two, isn't it?
Yes, that giantsong is very special to me. I would like to have it calligraphed or embroidered on something and hung on a wall maybe.

Yes it is, very hard. I went to a couple jewelry stores yesterday but none of them had white gold, so I'll have so check some more.

Seven years into my marriage, I became concerned that my original gold wedding band would become permanently installed on my left hand. Maybe even a 911 emergency at some point. I was younger and lighter then but now my fingers are getting fatter as I age. So one day, with some kind of lubricant, I was able to slip it off.
But The Wife didn't like me going around ringless, of course.
So I took the opportunity to get something I have wanted since way before marriage even entered my mind.
A white gold ring.
I got one that fit me (at least for now)
At JCPenney. $82. Been wearing it now since April '04.
Now The Wife wants a matching ring.
But her yellow gold ring is perfectly fine.
She can slip it on and off easily. No impending 911 emergencies there.
I see no reason why she should have one...yet.
Shouldn't she be required to read TCOTC first?

How strange that you began wearing your white gold ring on my birthday, Revelstone.
Yes, your wife should be required to read the Chronicles, for sure the first trilogy to be worthy of white gold. Then you must give it in love and faithfulness with a "true" heart, having it engraved with something appropriate, relating to your life together and The Chronicles.

I've never been a jewellery kind of bloke, but now I never take my white gold off. It's just a constant reminder. Well ok, sometimes I take it off to look at it

Sometimes I can almost feel it - the imminent blaze of wild magic

And there's a song (Furious Angels by Rob Dougan) that goes well with a sudden eruption of white fire, to me at least.

I love it when someone comments on it, since it sorta catches attention on my thumb, then it gives me a chance to ask if they are familiar with the Chronicles.
I found a very unique white gold ring for my daughter for a Christmas gift. It looks like it has a buckle, which is small diamonds, and it actually opens up for easy putting on the thumb, and clicks firmly closed.
I know she will love it. She is also a Covenant fan.

My suggestion for you, Revelstone, is that you buy her the First Chronicles when you get her the white gold ring...If it were me, I'd read it, even if only because the man in my life bought if for me (incidentally, I read this series purely because Tallin suggested it to me and handed me the first book...I ended up loving it). Anyway, I don't know you guys personally, so obviously I don't know if she'd react the same way as me, but that's why it's a suggestion, I guess...
