I aslo agree w/the Star Trek analysis but will defend Stewart, he is a classically trained Shakepearian actor--and better that what STNG would lead 1 2 believe, but I agree that we should b more creative than suggesting Stewart 4 every tall, skinny prominent nose role that comes along.

You're right, Danlo. Stewart does come from a background theater acting, so he can act. I'm NOT a star trek TNG fan, but everytime I watched the show I couldnt help feeling sick with the melodrama. I suppose it's the way they directed the series; Stewart just seemed to go along with it. I'll given him credit: he's superb in a number of other films (Dune, LA Story, Gun Men).

Bannor

Just came from seein Reign of Fire. The good guy (who played Quinn) is an actor named Christian Bale. He is the best idea for TC yet!
Those of you who have not seen this movie, go check it out. This guy is perfect for Covenant!

Thanks, Caamora. You've just won my heart. 8) I thought he was perfect as well. I kept calling him TC! :?

Christian Bale... Isn't he the bloke who was in American Psycho? Hmmm... I'm not sure what I'd make of him as TC. I don't think I'll ever be satisfied with anything other than my mental image of TC :)

Cast Lists?

Hello ... Am I logged on? Does my name appear?

s'Me again (back after The Creator knows how long!)

Good to see this one is still running - a lot of good ideas for cast members for a movie/movies. :)

I dunno about Jeri Ryan - I think Virginia Hey (Zaahn in Farscape) would be better as Atiaran - a great actress, stunningly good looking but not glamourous, which is what Atiaran always struck me as being.

Christian Bale might do a better job as Amok, or one of the Elohim (Chant? Wasn't he the one with the attitude?)

As for Patrick Stewart? Anyone who says he's not a brilliant actor, outside, now!!! He's fantastic! Both him and John deLancie (Q) were easily the best things about ST:TNG! I could see PS as Lord Prothall, or (better still!) Dead Kevin! Wow, that would be good!

And as for the Bloodguard? Back on the old board (remember those days? Aah, halcyon, weren't they...?) I suggested the Shaolin Monks, and I stick by that suggestion. Chinese/SE Asian in appearance, absolutely superb martial artists .. would fit in well with Jet Li as Bannor

I love the idea of Patrick Stewart as Kevin! That would be a good spot for him.

Hello. Just poking my nose in to say that in the idealised film version of "Chronicles" that I made up in my head, Covenant would be played by Richard E. Grant. Think about it - he's perfect! He looks the part and almost certainly has the acting range to carry it off. And plus he hasn't had a decent film role in years, so a vehicle like this would be ideal for him. I know it'll probably never happen, but just think of it!

Bugger, I now have this image stuck in my head of him screaming "HELLFIRE!" in that voice of his.

Cheers,
Phil A.

I have to say a big YES to the idea of Richard E Grant as TC, I don't know how that will go down with the rest of the Watch but I love the idea (for those who don't know him he was fantastic in the cult film Withnail and I and he was also in the (memorable) Hudson Hawk). I also now have the image of him playing the role in my mind and it keeps getting better.

Who's Grant?

Now that y'all have got us all curious--just who in the world is Richard E. Grant??

A British actor who's been in...........things.........I can't bring to mind (I've never seen Withnail). Not sure about him as TC though. Capable actor, but "hellfire"-ing American leper anti-hero? Hmmmmmm...

Ian McKellen for Mhoram, got to be, he could carry off the masked power and the crooked smile of course

I always imagined Mhoram to be a guy who looks to be in his forties, although he is over seventy or so; so McKellen (though I love him as Gandalf) would be too old imho

Indeed, even in TPTP, I never pictured Mhoram as more than middle-aged in appearance

I stand by McKellen especially in TPTP. Look at him in the X Men -perfect. Imagine him stading atop the tower of Revelstone flicking Vs at Foul's army.

Maybe he would look too old for the first two though. How about Sean Bean?

Trell - Big Pat Roach (Bomber in Auf Wiedersehn)
Linden Avery - Linda Hamilton (Terminator) though maybe she's getting on a bit now
TC - maybe Willem Dafoe, you need someone who can lookmad/compassionate,; he could
Prothall - Richard Harris
Elena - Nicole Kidman

danlo-

Richard E Grant was in:

As the good guy in Warlock - remember that? All that talk of needing the fat of an infant to make flying potion?

THe spice girls' manager in Spiceworld (a moderm classic)

Can't see him as TC though

not bad suggestions hamako .. I really like Harris for Prothal .. and I could see Linda Hamilton making a reasonable LA .. she's not to ancient now is she?

Willem Dafoe has been suggested before for TC .. I think he would make a good TC .. I also like Guy Pearce for TC .. he can do gaunt really well .. and he could come across well as an madly obsessive self-absobed survivalist like TC .. mmm .. no come to think of it .. I really like Guy Pearce!! for the job!!! .. either one would be fine with me ..

I dunno, all these major and relatively minor actors for every character sounds a little expensive to me......

yes I've heard that criticism before .. on the Mordants Need forum .. but you know .. there are cyber casting suggestions and I think we can front the cyber cash .. and even have a few cyber bucks left over for cyber dohnuts .. what do you think??  :P
