You have always struck me as a very competant person, Joy, and I am sure that if you set your mind to it, you will do very well indeed. 8)

Am in a good mood. Just got back from the garden center, where I bought some blueberry bushes. :) I am already imagining walking out into my yard and picking fresh, lucious blueberries to throw right into pancake batter and muffin mix, and to pour over vanilla ice cream. Image

Thank you, Duchess. :) My share of it went easier than expected. (Ur-bane, could I consult with you?)

Yeah, we've got birds, raccoons, deer, possums, rabbits, squirrels, chipmunks, skunks, and occasional packs of coyotes running around our neighborhood. The deer like to eat my tulips and roses. And the green onions. :? While walking on a dirt road less than a mile from my house, I've even seen wild turkeys. So I expect the birds and critters to eat some of everything I plant -- and I plant extra with that in mind -- as long as they leave me a few of my flowers or vegetables, all is well. 8)

We usually have several birds' nests in our yard every year. Always a couple of cardinal nests, mourning doves, and robins. We hear wood peckers during the day, and owls at night. :)

Lately a flock of about 12-14 gold finches have moved into my yard. They are going through about two feeders full of thistle seeds a week. But they are so much fun to watch, and such pretty little birds, I don't mind having to fill up their feeders all the time. :D

I made light wooden frames covered with chicken wire to go over my blueberry bushes.
Keeps the big critters/birds out but lets the bees in.
(Looks odd though)

A combination of good and bummed-out.
Let me explain why...

Today was our company picnic at a local county park.
There was a raffle ticket drawing and as luck would have it,
I won some tools for my trade.
But missed out on the BIG raffle drawing...
A 100 CD player, a home theater system, or a pair of Buc tickets + $50 spending money for ANY home game.
All three were given away.
(Would have LOVED the home theater sytem, or the CD player!)
My chances: 11 to 1

Oh well, better luck next time, eh?

I feel much better as I found out that my ex started seeing someone else before he had even officially dumped me. Now I don't have to be sad, but can instead start planning ways to see him horribly humiliated in front of large crowds of people.

And I may poison his budgie. ;)

Do it. Budgies are a public nuisance.

If it makes you feel any better, a friend of mine is getting divorced because her husband can't seem to stop spending their mortgage payments on prositutes. :(

I agree. Poison the "someone else." Steal the budgie and sell it.

Nah, the "someone else" probably isn't even aware that I existed. I will sell the budgie though. And I could always get someone to break both Stephen's legs. Gang labour's pretty cheap these days. ;)

Sleepy. Spent 90 minutes on a StarCraft mission ("New Gettysburg", to be exact). I'm sure that's a laughable fact to veterans of the game, but it was the first time I'd ever played it, and I made some early mistakes, which took a long time to remedy. Ah well, I did complete the mission. Time for bed!

Also a good plan. He obviously doesn't deserve to be allowed use of his legs, since all he seems to do with them is run around. He sounds like--as we say in modern parlance--a Mega-Jerk.

It's Monday. To quote comedian Blake Clark:

"I feel like I've been eaten by a wolf and sh*t over a cliff."

Feeling so-so. Will feel better after my daily jog and subsequent shower. Friend Seth will be coming over to watch the Godfather, Part II with me around 4:00. It'll be the first time he's ever seen it!

Tired and groggy today. Worked midnights last night, got out of bed about half an hour ago, will be heading in to work an afternoon shift in about half an hour. :? :? :?

Would rather sit outside with a big mug of very strong tea, throwing a stick for the dog to chase.
