Dude, don't you dare even touch my Jayne!! He's my boy. Leave him out of this.
Spoiler
Wash died because the actor didn't want to play him any more in the even that the movie was successful enough to bring back the series. So it's his own damn fault.
Leave my Jayne alone.

I'd have been pissed if Jayne had bought the farm.

Jayne, the man they call Jayne

He robbed from the rich
And he gave to the poor
Stood up to the man
And gave him what for
Our love for him now
Ain't hard to explain
The hero of Canton
The man they call Jayne

Our Jayne saw the mudders' backs breakin'
He saw the mudders' lament
And he saw the magistrate takin'
Every dollar and leavin' five cents
So he said "you can't do that to my people"
He said "you can't crush them under your heel"
So Jayne strapped on his hat
And in 5 seconds flat
Stole everythin' Boss Higgins had to steal

He robbed from the rich
And he gave to the poor
Stood up to the man
And gave him what for
Our love for him now
Ain't hard to explain
The hero of Canton
The man they call Jayne

Now here is what separates heroes
From common folk like you and I
The man they call Jayne
He turned 'round his plane
And let that money hit sky
He dropped it onto our houses
He dropped it into our yards
The man they called Jayne
He stole away our pain
And headed out for the stars

He robbed from the rich
And he gave to the poor
Stood up to the man
And gave him what for
Our love for him now
Ain't hard to explain
The hero of Canton
The man they call Jayne.

A bit behind the eight-ball here - I've only just started watching the DVDs of "Firefly"...OMG, WHY did they can this brilliant series? Stupid jock network bosses I suppose...never let us geeks have ANY good stuff on free-to-air... :|

I am hooked after only the first 3 episodes (I'm watching the series before I watch the movie, so I didn't vote which is my fave yet!) Jayne is SO an ugly thuggish version of Sawyer...and I think I wanna hump the Captain...

I won't reveal anything, but I think you'll find that Jayne has, arguably, a smaller number of redeeming qualities than Sawyer. Which could be good or bad, depending on what you favor.

Yeah, Jayne has his uses, but he pisses me off. I'm big on loyalty to friends and such, and there are a few times that he did things that totally made me want to smack him into the next galaxy.

Anywho, for those wanting to buy the series, Best Buy has the dvds on sale right now for $19.99. :D

My sis & bro-out-law have the series on DVD - I'll just borrow theirs when I need a 'fix'! hahaha!

Holsety, Jayne is NOWHERE NEAR as good as Sawyer in my books! ;)

Ya'll can have Sawyer. I'll stick with Jayne. The sex would be better.

(And seeing has how Firefly came out before Lost, then I'd argue that Sawyer is just a watered down, pretty-boy version of Jayne.)

O rly? :P

I think Sawyer would be better in the sack, being how his 'trade' is conning women... ;) Jayne would be Neanderthal by comparison....

Um. . . not to be indelicate, but Jayne is out for Jayne, and Jayne only. He can't be bothered to be subtle, so I doubt that you'd truly enjoy the experience, Waddley. You strike me as the kind of woman who has certain expectations for her partners.

Now as for Sawyer, he might indeed be trying to play you--to con you out of or into something--but he's suave enough to at least make you enjoy it so much that you never even notice that you're being swindled--or if you did, you might not half care!

awimmin to dat, Lyr! Hey, I would even accept being conned by him (anyway, he don't con the women, he cons their HUSBANDS...the girls just get the benefit of his lurrrrvin'....yeehar to that!)

Good lord. I went to delete all these stupid, off-topis Sawyer posts, when it occured to me this isn't a forum I mod.

So now I'm just clawing my eyes out......

I'm afraid there's no denying
