I feel sore. We learned a spin last night where you hook your leg around the front of the pole and spin forward, and my arms were so tired (need more upper body strength) that I was screwing it up over and over. I finally got it twice after I rested, but I feel bad that I wasn't able to get it quickly. I've been picking up everything else pretty easily, but not this one.
Aside from the lack of muscle in my arms, I think I had a couple other problems. First, I didn't eat before class. I REALLY need to eat something with lots of protein before-hand or else I won't have the energy to last the entire class. Also, spinning like normal (like a fireman spin) seems a lot more secure. This forward spin was a bit scarier, and I didn't trust the grip of my leg to not let me fall flat on my face. I need to work on that trust a little more, because even if I fell, it's not like I'm so far off the ground that I can't catch myself. A forward spin is really graceful though, and pretty, so I want to be able to get it. I'm going to start playing with my brother's weights.
So my arm is sore from slamming it against the pole when my grip wasn't enough to hold me, and my leg is sore from slamming it against the pole because my arms were giving out.
Other than that, I'm great!

I feel sore myself, Wads. Got it from just walking, though. Can't jog anymore (or at least until I hit my ideal weight).
I'm defeating Mr. Anorexia. Currently at 140 right now and steadily climbing. Also going through a gamut of medication: Xanax, Lexapro, Remeron, and Zyprexa. Quite the cocktail!
The pills make me feel like I'm underwater, and I also get some shaking in my movements. Otherwise, I feel fine. I just wish I was less focused on my recovery and more able to enjoy my summer. But as a friend of my mother's told me yesterday: recovery is a selfish process.

I know about the Anorexia thing. I spent from the age of 10 until I was 28 as a "practicing" anorexic and was a "non-practicing" anorexic up until 31. Now I am recovered. My thoughts are with you.
I'm tired and a little sore, but this is because I spent the day out at Six Flags yesterday for the company picnic. Eight hours of chasing 4 kids around an amusement park will make anyone tired and sore. lol It was sure fun though! I will have some pics soon to share.

That is
great LF

I'm super happy for you! (Not the soreness part, although being sore can be nice sometimes if you're sore for the right reasons. THERE WAS NO INTENTIONAL INNUENDO IN THAT STATEMENT) Congratulations on your recovery.
SQ- We need to start a "We hurt this morning" club because apparently we're all sore. We all need hugs. And mimosas.

I am so out of touch. Are you referring to pole-dancing, Wadds? I know it's becoming a popular way to exercise, but didn't know you had taken it up.

Yeah, pole dancing

I mentioned it a couple weeks back, I thinks. I've been to four classes and have two left in this session and I'm going to take the next level session if I'm able to work it around school (I start next week.) I'd really like to be able to stick with the group of girls I'm currently learning with. They're pretty cool, and really diverse. I don't think I'm the youngest, and our oldest gal has a couple kids and is in her late 30's. We also have a pilates instructor (pliates is amazing, you should see this woman's back. It's very very toned, like you don't normally see on a woman) I don't know what the other two gals do. As long as the next class isn't on Tuesday or Thursday, it should be all good. Anyway, the class is very awesome and great exercise. My instructor has amazing upper body strength.
I have bruises and scrapes all over my legs, I just noticed.

Ow, poor Wadds. Hugs and speedy recovery wishes to everyone who's hurting. I feel kinda tired. I think it's the thought that I really really really need to do laundry tonight or else go out and buy some new clothes...either thought is exhausting at this moment....

Boy! Wanting to get in shape in a way that is fun for you must mean you want to take your clothes off for drunken men! How are those daddy issues going?

My high school diploma.
But I'm thinking about ditching that idea to persue a career in exotic dancing.
