Good news regarding the job looking like a good match, psytechnm! Sorry about the wait for a full paycheck though.
Jenn, I hope things all turned out well yesterday...

And speaking of missed messages, I have no cellphone network access at all at the moment, so Luci, if you tried to call me back I can't send or receive calls.

I feel good! My bronchitis is abating, and my first appointment canceled this morning. My husband took me out for breakfast and I get to putter around on the computer for another 25 minutes before I have to go into the office. Life is good today.

I had a job interview today, for a position at another branch. The job listing was up on our website for 2 days, and they had 50 qualified applicants, so my chances aren't great...
Even so, I thought it went well today. Now, I just have to wait a week for the rest of the interviews (mine was the second they did), and I'll find out about it...

I went to the dentist again this morning, this time to prep for my crown. So now, my gums are all sore in that dull-ache way that makes you want to pull your hair out. Ugh.

Got my sabbatical approved today.
February 16th through April 16th, I will be a woman of leisure. I cannot freakin' wait.

the mayor announced 19000 more to be laid off in the next few months. 1000 cops, 2500 teachers, etc etc. my agency losing 700 more.
this sucks

Geez, lorin, at what point is it going to be just you in an otherwise empty building?
CMJ, speaking as a purely disinterested party who has never worked in that kind of setting, that sounds like gross incompetence on the part of your co-worker.

Sorus and I set him straight. It won't happen again. Problem is that they throw people into departments without real training because they have limits to the amount of full time employees that it causes a high turnover rate so training is time wasting. OD has some seriously bad policies. No wonder one of the training videos that noobs are forced to watch is all about how unions are evil and you should not join or start one. Yeesh.

lorin -- that sucks. I'm so sorry.
Jenn -- I'm like that, too. I end up sitting at my desk during my alleged lunch hour, and if the phone rings, I answer it, and if somebody comes by with a question, I answer it, and then I wonder why it feels like I never get a break....
And thanks for the congrats, you guys.

Just starting to firm up plans. I've got a big, long list of crap I need to accomplish during those two months, but that hardly counts, y'know?

Just tonight, actually, I booked a short trip to Hawaii. If it actually happens,* I will have visited 49 of the 50 states. Knockin' another one off the bucket list, yay!
*Those of you who've been around for awhile may recall my three's-the-charm trip to Spain...

OK! NEW RULE PEOPLE! ANY watcher flying through San Francisco California is required to book an overnight stay. GOT IT? GGGOOOTTT ITTTTT???!!!! GOOD! NOT Negotiable. NOT an option. We have an amazing group of people centered in the Bay Area. TAKE ADVANTAGE AND DO THE RIGHT THING!!!!. Ok, I'll shut up now.

That's wonderful, Ali! And I remember your Spain trip clearly! Hope this Hawaii trip goes off without a hitch!
