I'm exhausted. I went to bed late for starters, as I was too interested in taking time for me after the baby went to bed, and it took me a while to finally give up and go to bed. Then the baby woke up crying a few hours later, then the wife woke up crying after that, then I woke up crying soon after that...

ali, let's not even think about a possibility of your Spain trip fiascoes!! Your trip to Hawaii will be awesome, especially if you and Wadds manage to get together. :)

cag, anyway to fit a nap in today?

lorin, I am so sorry...

Well, I think Hawaii is infinitely more accessible then Spain. Everyone I've know who tried to get to Spain has horror stories about just getting there.

Hang in there Lorin.

Sleep is overrated, Cag... but boy do I wish I had more time for it ;)

Orlion, I'm too lazy to go back and hunt through this thread for the relevant posts. Here's the synopsis:

Sometime mid-2007: booked trip to Spain for my 50th birthday in early December.

Early November 2007: twisted my ankle on an uneven sidewalk while walking and doing a Sudoku at the same time (yes!).

Just after Thanksgiving 2007: twisted the same ankle by stepping on a magnolia tree seed pod (yes!). Got the Universe's message and rescheduled the trip for early March 2008.

Two days before my departure: got the call that my mom was dying. Flew to Chicago. She died the morning of the day I was supposed to leave. Rescheduled the trip yet again.

April 2008: finally got to go.

Oh, and then later that same year, I planned to take Amtrak from DC to Denver for Elohimfest, but flooding washed out the tracks in Iowa, so I had to fly instead.

So yeah, I'm *really* hoping for an uneventful trip....

And Menolly, my hotel will be about five minutes' walk from Waddley's. :) And I get a layover in San Francisco -- not overnight, just a few hours, SORRY, JENN! :hide:

I'm tired today. I'll be glad when SoS goes back to school next week and I'll hopefully be able to have a bit of quality time by myself. I need a break!

Just came home from a very enjoyable dinner with Lucimay, Creator and Webmonkey. Fabulous people, delicious food and very entertaining conversation. Can't beat that. Haven't seen Creator since Danlo and Lady Tam's wedding and I must say he is kicking some serious arse in his bid to get back in slim trim fighting form. Rigel, come to SF because we rock hard here!

I meant to respond to this before. I sympathize. Not that i have those problems now, Caggy, but I've certainly been there and done that. Don't worry. It will get better eventually. *huggles*

Thanks for the sympathies. I'm even more tired today, as the kid decided it was time to wake up at midnight for over an hour. Then the neighbors woke up crying...

Now what did you do to your neighbors to make them cry?

They got jealous with everyone else waking up crying in our household that they decided to give it a try.

Actually not very much of the conversation was about WOW. A few quick moments but not much. We talked more about our lives and what was going on, the economy, food, music, the watch and random life events.

Uh-oh -- y'all talked about the Watch? :hide:

Glad you guys had a good time!

Oh yeah, Cag, I *also* meant to say, been there, done that. Hang in there....

Orlion -- thanks for the luck dance! 8) As it happens, I've already had to change my flight. I told one of my attorneys (the guy who commutes to Mumbai  ) that I was going to Hawaii, and he called me about seven kinds of crazy for going all that way for two days *and* offered to pay the change fee if I'd extend my trip. Hard to refuse an offer like that.... (We had that conversation after he got his visa back from the processing place, just an hour before he was supposed to leave for the airport. I've been on the phone for the past three days with the processing place, making sure he would get it in time. So that's been *my* day...)

Don't worry, nothing bad was said about the watch. We also talked about movies and power trips and the suppleness of Lucimay's new leather messenger bag and how it's stitching and lining makes it gorgeous in an awesomely aesthetic way. We also talked about current life goals and how much we love one another. We talked about colloquial expressions and language nuances and about state and federal economies and about how much leftover chocolate souffle and red velvet cake I was taking home for myself and how Lucimay took the fudge drizzled dark chocolate banana creme mousse cake home. Lucimay and I were the only ones ordering dessert and she left the table and so Creator made my decision for me and ordered both desserts I was waffling between. Like a true martyr he watched Lucimay and I sample the desserts and kept himself pure from the evil temptation. It was a seriously good evening. I wish you all could have been there.

At this very moment, Beorn is filling out an online application with the county government for a library page position. This is a regular, ongoing 20 hour a week part time government position. Should he land it, and passes probation, it is a position he can keep working at through high school graduation and should he choose to apply for and gets accepted to UF, throughout at least his undergraduate career.

Applications are accepted until the 5th of February. I have no idea how long after the position closes before interviews may be set up.

Good vibes, please everybody!
