Ha! If I wasn't so addicted to StarCraft right now I'd find time to learn Pantheon and join you guys in the Godhood struggle.
Heheheheheh...

Now that you said that, you are in trouble. Just ask dlb and Jenn... ;)

Balon, I agree with Cail on this. No reason you can't be buds, but the work environment is a poor one to find dates.

I like both Cail's and Damelon's female perspective on this. ;)

Seriously, both of you are giving sound advice. But I do think it can be done with eyes wide open to the downfalls of such on both parties account.

I'm gonna side with Cail and Damelon on this one. Mixing work and personal lives usually goes bad.

I feel a little worried today. Moose took a nasty tumble the other day and he's still gimping a bit so I am taking him to the vet at 11. I know I am overreacting but I can't help it, he's my BABY.
Now if I could just find a way to wear live bees as jewelry all the time.....

Will do. I'm sure he's fine but the mom in me can't help worrying.

I feel good.
Things are going well (although they could be a lot better).
So, of course, I'm expecting something bad to happen soon.

Poor Moose. I hope it's just a bruise.

I got home last night after spending four of the last five nights on the road. Mani was jumping around like a wild dog. Now, he probably figures I'm gone for another couple of nights. He'll be surprised when I come home tonight. ;)

The big bite this week is that I have to get my license plate sticker by the end of the month. Now I got to find some time to get to the Drivers Bureau. :?

My Gwennie was limping several weeks ago and I totally wigged out. My dad has 4 dogs and he said that it happens sometimes and goes away in a few days. I was still freaked, but decided to give it a day or two. I did not calm down until the limp went away. It did after a day or so, but it is still terribly upsetting. I hope he is ok. He most likely is, but I know what it is like to be a fretting mama.

Hope Moose feels better soon!

Balon -- what Cail and Damelon said. Nothing wrong with hanging out with her and a group of friends, however...unless you think that might, y'know, get her hopes up, in which case, never mind.

I am sooooo freaking tired. I did the new commute for the first time this morning. It went fine, but I had to get up an hour sooner than usual, plus I didn't get to bed 'til after midnight, so I ended up with about 4 hours of sleep. I've done Starbucks and Dr Pepper, and *still* every time I sit and look at the computer for five minutes, my eyes start to slam shut....

Moose is ok. Doc put him on some anti-inflammatory drugs and some antibiotics. He said it's possibly some muscle bruising or a slight sprain and he has some irritation/dark area around his toenail. Nothing major. I feel much better now.

Personally, as far the dating of coworkers, it all depends on the following:

1) company rules & regulations - not that this ever stops anyone...it is just about how much you need to hide it, which you'll never entirely do anyway.

2) the type of job. Meaning, if it is some time of job where upward mobility means becoming the manager of the place, and you aren't gunning for it, then go right ahead. However, if you are working a big corporate outfit, it could really work against you.

3) How much contact do you have with her on a regular basis? Is she in your department or whatever? It's best if she isn't. If you are forced together as part of the same group, then it is an especially bad idea. Especially if you aren't that into her, and someone gets dumped. Friendship after dating typically doesn't happen for about 5-10 years. From my experience anyway. At least the kind of friendship that involves listening to each other tell about boyfriends, husbands or f*ck buddies.

4) How much do you care about the job? If you don't, then I say go for it. You can always pick up and go somewhere else if the breakup happens or simply if things get tense with management or rumor city. Otherwise, it'll be pretty difficult.

5) Do you even fancy her? It doesn't sound like you are very fond of her other than that she is nice. Not a glowing review of someone.

6) Are you insane, man? Well, are you?

Cail probably has the best advice though. I'm just trying to lend my bits of experience from dating women in classes that I had to dating those I work with.

Yay!

I bought new cables and my jury rigged connection works! I don't have to go to Panera to check in here. :D

Well, it all sounds like sound advice to me. And the gut was saying no anyway.

So If she contacts me again, I'll just let her know its not where I want to go.

Thanks, all!

:EDIT:

As for today? I'm feeling good. My birthday is coming up which means I'll be able to see ALL my brothers in ONE place at the SAME time. WOO! :D

I've also clipped my beard, and am getting a hair trim tommarrow. I making lots of new friends at work, and everything in general is pretty good right now. :D I'll send these good vibes to any who need them. I've got PLENTY to spare.

Better today. Got a little more sleep last night. And I found out that even though the commute is long, I can catch a nap on the bus. :Z:

I'm also getting to work an hour early. Gotta figure out something to do for that hour that doesn't involve: a) going to my desk and starting work early; b) stopping at the cafeteria every morning. We have a gym here at work -- I should check tomorrow morning to see how crowded it is at that time of day.

Thanks. I could use some. It's been a bit of a lousy week. At least each day I've worked, I've had something amazingly annoying, with the exception of today. Today I had a phone interview, which I had to rearrange shifts with someone else I work with to get time to do it. Well, I didn't check the answering machine yesterday, so I checked it this morning, when there is about 30 minutes until showtime. The guy says he can't do it until 10:00, which is way too late for me as I need to be at work then. That's the annoying thing for today. But the day ain't over yet.

Yesterday it was an irate customer that was upset from the get-go, and probably because he had been passed around a lot. Threatened to come beat us up. Told me that he is the customer and I had to do everything he said. I felt he was a little power hungry, and didn't deserve my attention, so I let the manager take the call. She had previously said she wanted to take calls like that, so yay.

The day before was some big stupid test thingy to see how our center would react. This while we have to take real calls. Put us behind all day, and it took an hour and 30 minutes to deal with this fake one. Annoying.

Okay, my bitching is over. I'm happy enough now despite it all.

No response from that woman I asked out. Oh well, here we go again. If it's not being rejected it's also the old ignore the email/text message routine. I really don't know why I waste my time

Well, it could be for the best Lore. As you can see from some earlier posts that several of us think that dating co-workers is trouble in the making. 8O  Someone great will come along for you don't get discouraged. :P
