I managed to get an OK rate by paying up-front for the two nights. A little more than I was hoping for, but WAY less than anything else I could find that could get me points and wasn't a million-mile BART ride from the action.
I don't know about throwing a party, though. For the rate I paid, I've probably got a cot in the elevator shaft.

i just walked through the square a few minutes ago on my way home from a going away dinner for my coworker at Bucca di Beppo.
(mountians of food)
and there was a decent three piece playing bluesy funky rock on the street corner.

And as of about 7-7:30 tonight, Damelon and I will be meeting for the first time in person! So will Bloodguard Bob and Damelon! This is soooooo exciting!

OH! You will get your tiny dancer Pamalamadingdong! Just got back from a fabulous dinner at Julie's house. Bloodguard Bob made cornish game hens, asparagus, garlic mashers, criminy mushroom gravy and salad. Julie, her fiance Mike, Terry (Atrium/various others), David (Terry's hubby/man in ochre robe/king's henchman), Heatherly, Damelon, Bloodguard Bob, myself and SRD were all in attendance. We jabbered away before dinner and then watched episode 39. We then broke for dinner which was succulent and then jabbered some more and then watched episode 40. Then we jabbered yet more and consumed some triple chocolate mousse cake and some cherry cheesecake and jabbered a whole lot more. It was great fun. Then Bloodguard Bob and I dropped SRD and Damelon back at their respective hotels and now we are home. All in all a stellar evening. I couldn't have asked for a better day.

Let me take some time out now thank Jenn and BGB for the hospitality shown me here in SF.
First, a mouth watering spaghetti dinner, a chance to meet the incomparable Moose, and conversation that made the time fly by the other night.
Then for the invitation to dinner last night at Julie's house. It was a pleasure to meet the stars of the show, Julie and Heatherly, as well as Julie's fiancé Mike, Terry and David. BGB created a wonderful meal, he truly has a talent there. There is nothing like good food and good company to bring about good conversation which was interspersed with laughter as we watched the last two episodes of FBH on the "big screen", a plasma tv. (I'm used to watching the episodes on my laptop, with Quicktime.
) It was also, it should go without saying, a pleasure to dine with SRD in a relaxed setting. Again, I must thank Jenn for that.
I see now that Romeo has arrived. Cool. I'll be meeting Luci in a couple hours for coffee, and picking up Danlo early this afternoon. I'm not sure when IrrationalSanity is coming to town, but I know Creator is here. The board is nearly set. Let the fun continue.
