Wow, I feel like things suddenly went quite...I suppose 'tis the season and all that.

I shall have a good day today...Christmas lunch at work, so will be off early, then a nice long weekend, as I won't be back at work until Thursday.

So, I might be a bit scarce myself the next few days.

The rest of you will have to work all the harder to keep the post count up. ;)

We had a lovely memorial service for my Mom yesterday. My sister and I sang "The Parting Glass" which she had requested. There were some great stories and recollections about her. After, we went to the beach where we practically lived in the summer, and scattered her ashes (not really legal, supposed to go 3 miles from shore, but too bad).

I slept very well last night.

Ready to move on today.

Glad the service went well, deer, and sorry for your loss (think I said that already but saying it again).

A co-worker of mine died this week after collapsing and spending a week in the ICU. She is very much missed by all of us.

Had the MRI scan today. Gosh, that machine is noisy. In spite of earplugs and headphones, through which I was talked to, I could still hear loud bangs, knocks, thumps and various other sounds. Hopefully that's all the tests over now. I shan't get the results of the MRI (head scan) for 6 weeks, and still haven't had any results from the CT scan (pelvic/abdomen) that I had on the 12th November, but no news is good news, hopefully.

I feel good with just a touch of melancholy. But that's normal for me.

Good is good. :D

I'm back at work after a nice long weekend, in which we celebrated both our 17th anniversary, and the GF's birthday.

Saturday was lunch with her Grandmother. Sunday was lunch for the two of us at a Japanese fusion restaurant.

Monday was white water rafting.

Tuesday was her birthday, so spa day for her, shooting range for me, followed by lunch at a nice Thai place.

Wednesday was recovering from all that. :D

Now I'm back at work, but luckily most of the clients are on holiday (the whole country pretty much shuts down between mid December and mid January except for the service industry).

So I'm looking forward to a nice quiet rest of the month catching up stuff that there usually isn't any time for. :D

I had to leave work early with a bout of V & D (I said V and D!). Laid up at home feeling like shit. Still - bit the bullet and told them I wouldn't be in tomorrow so at least I'll get the chance to recover over the weekend.

Thanks Av - will do. Norovirus I'm guessing, that does the rounds in the UK most winters. Still - better now than over Christmas!

Poor Peter. I had that about three years ago and it absolutely drained me for a whole week (literally, from all orifices). Took some time to get over it. Now I know what you meant by D and V. :? I didn't like to ask in case people thought me stupid. Hope you feel better soon.

peter, think of all the weight you most likely lost! The first time I got malaria, I lost 25 lbs. And since I survived, it was great.

Io, I had my first MRI this year. The noises are so weird!! 8O

Rabs, welcome to the Watch.

Hope you're feeling better, Peter. I've been dodging the plague that's been circulating at work for the past two weeks. Going through Airborne like it's candy - placebo or not, I swear by the stuff. Seems the worst is over, knock on wood.

What's Airborne Sorus? Seems like I should know about this stuff!

No idea how available it is on your side of the pond. It's basically overpriced vitamin C. (With other stuff - it's just that the jury is still out on whether the other stuff does anything.) Worth every cent if it keeps me from getting sick though.

Last week of work. Closing on the 24th until the 4th. Had a rough weekend, no water from Friday until Sunday evening, so that sucked. :D
