Very tired. Woke up at 6am for some reason this morning and couldn't get back to sleep, so now I've been awake far too long.

On friday I left the ambulance service. A special morning tea was held for me in which all of management came. The head of the control center made a long speech where I was thanked, and then my manager thanked me. I was given a framed certificate of appreciation, a lovely thankyou card, and a bottle of Cointreau (yum!). I was literally speechless and very touched. Now I have the week off before I start work as a psychologist.

Good morning Lore (and Sea, Elfy, duke, Edge, if you're still out there, etc.)! Enjoy what down time you have, Lore.

I feel tired. I went over to feed Julie's birds today and Wendell is a rescue bird with many neuroses. He is also a habitual plucker to the point that a good portion of his body feathers will never grow in again. Anyway, I must have gotten there just after he had a vicious go at his tailfeathers. There was blood everywhere and he was still bleeding a little though it was definitely clotting up. He must have also decided to flap his wings because there was blood sprayed all over the walls and floor and wet blood all down the side of his wonky wing. I spent over half an hour cleaning it up. Ugh. I have seen him do this numerous times before having lived with him for four years but it never gets less traumatic for me. I cried a little while cleaning. Now I feel emotionally drained and maybe even a bit sad. I wish I had some way to make him stop doing that. He's had a collar before and he is ok for a few months or so after you take the collar off him but then he will just start in again.

I'm a little tired after driving home from my weekend snowboarding trip early because my flatmate broke his arm. :/

Ok, wound myself down a little by cooking up some yumminess. The quiche is in the oven and I feel better.

Today was the first full day without pain killers.
(I am relieved)
Other than that, I'm doing just peachy.
In fact, went to a "pool party" at a friends house today. Luckily, I didn't get sunburned.

One more try at a concert before summer lets out.
Target: Deep Purple - July 15th
(playing about 15 minutes away)
NO MORE UNEX[ECTED TURN OF EVENTS TO MISS A CONCERT!!!
There, I un-jinxed myself.

Oh yeah, my buddy that wrecked his car...
He's fine too and bought himself a new (to him) vehicle the other day.
He bought a pick-up truck.
The "concert-mobile" was totalled.

I feel agitated.

I'm waiting for the tickets to the France V Scotland Euro qualifier going on sale on a french website this morning.

I've got a horrible feeling that the website is going to crash after about 2 minutes, cos there's gonna be thousands of other Scots (and possibly a few French folk) trying to snap them up.

I'll let you know how I get on.

WoooooHoooooo,
after about a dozen attempts, I managed to get two tickets.

Were a bit more expensive than the ones I actually wanted, but, beggars can't be choosers.

Paris here I come.

So looks like I'll be in a good mood for the rest of the day (or at least until I get to work later today  )

Where do you work...I hope not vegas!
Aha!! Probably Pahrump!?
Neither of those places, but it's 90 degrees outside now and the a/c is still dead. I'll either take my work home with me at lunch or take a half day off; either way I'm leaving at noon.

At Donaldson's rate of writing I'm not sure any of us can be sure we're gonna get to finish the series. :P
I'm not nearly as concerned about SRD's rate of writing as I am of G.R.R. Martin's.....
