Hugs for Luci!!!!
I'm good. I'm currently at Seasis' house and have had a cuddle of Morgan. She's sooooooooo cute (the baby, that is, and not my sister!

I'm wide awake when I shouldn't be, and it's still too hot to type-made it to 103 today! I miss my baby Jojo star of E-fest '-07 and Waddely's best friend.

The poor baby was attacked in the park by two bull mastiffs today, and me too to some degree. She's staying overnight at the vets and has a pretty big gash underneath her right foreleg. Has to go under for deep irrigation and internal stitches. I figure probably 12-18 stitches in all inside and out. She's mobile, but has a limp. I got bitten once when I was covering her up but managed to crack the main aggresor's nose pretty hard while keeping an eye on miss Elora at the same time who was pointing to her pup and crying, poor baby.
I was about to go totally beserk on the dogs, especially that close to the baby, when a very pregnant lady grabbed the collar of the female, which seemed to calm the male down. The owner finally appeared and I ripped him a new one until I realized I knew the guy--and he's a very nice guy. So the situation sucked all around. His dogs broke the fence and he was across the street talking to the neighbors. He was incredibly sorry and is paying for everything and said that he plans to put Huckleberry down, since this is not the only time he's attacked another dog.
That sucks---I remember how I almost died when I had to put Jamaica down when she was being eaten alive by bladder cancer. My cats and my dogs have always been my babies. However, the experience taught me some things about being a father...I love Jojo but I would have abandoned her and ripped Huckleberry's heart out if he came within two feet of Elora Grace. Unfortunately, in the midst of my adrenaline OD, I made it very clear to the guy that my daughter's safety was paramount and I'm sure that sealed his decision to put Huckleberry down.
I don't even think it's a dogs v. human thing. I've tried really hard all my life to be against capital punishment but there are even some humans out there need to be put down as well.

Well that brought back memories. I was attacked twice as a child by dogs. I was never injured, because my Dad got in between us both times, and actually almost killed on of them, but the experience has been with me my whole life. Dog's freak me out, and it takes a real effort on my part to make friends with them. At this time there is only three dogs I trust enough to be able to turn my back on them.
I am SO GLAD that it didn't come down to you choosing between your dog and Elora.

Thanks for the hug! I really needed that. I think I wasn't quick enough because I assumed they were nice dogs. While we were all at the vets Carl reminded me that all three dogs had gotten along well before
while he was holding his on leashes.
I broke up a dog fight years before when a pit bull attacked my collie-coyote mix Romeo. I reacted so quickly that Romeo barely had a cut or two and removed the pit-bull from his neck to my arm when it took 20 minutes for my girlfriend to stun the dog near to unconsciouness (my gods I know what it's like to be in a Stephen King movie!

). Those two deep and long scars are aching tonight, for some reason...

Frightening. I can honestly say that I don't know that I wouldnt freeze up if a dog attacked me.
Your a brave man, Danlo.
:EDIT:
Now that I think of it, if MY daughter was standing right there, I wouldn't hesitate for a moment. Good job.

Oh danlo!
Poor JoJo
and Elora! I am so glad she came to no physical harm. I am sure JoJo will pull through. Let us know how clingy Elora is this morning when she finally wakes up.
Poor babies (and Daddy as well!)...

That's a scary situation, Danlo.
I'm glad you and Eloha are all right, and JoJo sounds like she'll be fine with some TLC.

Hugs for Danlo, JoJo and Elora!
And for the neighbor who will have to put down his dog, too....

Losing a pet is *always* tough, no matter the circumstances.

Wow, Dan, that's insane.
Well, I feel crappy today. I got a call when I got home from work last night. It was from the HR lady for the job I interviewed twice for, and she said that they decided all the applicants were overqualified (first time I've ever been accused of that), and that they were starting over. And now, I have to too. Dammit. I really wanted that job.

Bull mastiffs are big dogs--our mastiff, Polo, sat on my leg about two weeks after I learned to walk and broke it in 3 places. Just got the call from the vet-Joj has to wear a drainage tube for 3 days and has a bunch of meds--we're off to get her.

*hugs* for you too, Cagliostro. My husband's looking for a job right now (we just moved), so I know how rough that can be.

Wow! Hugs to Danlo and Cag. Glad everyone is ok Danlo and don't worry Cag, the perfect job will come along for you. I have faith my brother. It's raining here in SF yet it's muggy and warm, ugh. I feel moody and restless. I think I need a distraction.
