I feel accomplished. Just finished Part VII of my short story cycle. I'm currently listening to some music from Cowboy Bebop.
I think I've defeated anorexia. I still have some anxiety about whether or not I'm eating right/putting on the weight well. But everyone tells me I'm filling out fine, and my intuition seems clear: I've got a good balance of eating and exercise, I think. Up to 170 now, and the weight is coming on slowly--about a pound a week now. I think I'll level off around 185-195.

I feel like driving up to work in my Green Lantern costume, piss drunk, picking up my pay check, cashing it, and telling my boss I need a week off, "Because Superboy Prime has escaped and I've been recalled to Oa."
And if that doesn't get me a week off to go see my girlfriend, I think I'm gonna have to pay people to cover my shifts...
I miss my girlfriend.

I feel even better now! Bloodguard Bob is off to pick up SRD at the airport and my buddy Tony from the Mazda dealership is sending me some white "zoom zoom" stickers for the back fender of my new bike!

It's great to be me!

Sounds coolio, Jenn! Hope EL gets to see the girlfriend soon, and hope Luci kicks that cold before the celebration. AND. . . hope you guys all have fun for me at the Finale party.
I feel pretty yucky. I'm fighting a losing battle with a migraine.

Other than that, I'm okay. Finished the new Harry Potter in three sittings! I won't discuss it here in case people are trying to avoid spoilers, but I was very satisfied with the book.

Which coast are your relatives from? KZN?
Yeah, just north of Port Edward.
Man I feel rough...4 hours sleep, my uncle, just back from London-St Petersburg-Warsaw brought me a litre of my favourite Polish Vodka, which we chased with a couple of bottles of red wine with dinner, and coffee and liqueurs.
Just waiting for the day to end.

See? We all said you had nothing to worry about. Hopefully I find the same luck and get out of here in two weeks, I'll be very happy. The only lead I have right now is from my friend who said that he might finally be able to get me in where he works taking his old job, as he is moving up. Which would suit me just fine as I like my friend, know he will come through for me, and he is working at the Denver Natural History Museum with big dinosaurs, IMAX and planetarium. I would love it, even though I'd be paid less than I could be paid elsewhere. But job happiness is better, no?
I'm going to be all alone this weekend, as the girlfriend is leaving town tomorrow for a mama visit, and I opted to stay home this time around. After all, we've had visitors ever weekend during July, and I need a break. Sadly, though, this is the weekend before my birfday (on Monday) so I was hoping she'd want to celebrate it on Saturday. Still, peace and quiet and tons of videogames (not to mention a heap of job hunting...bluh) is in my future, so I can't be too unhappy. I never get time for these things when she is around, so...yay!

Happy early birthday, Cags!
SQ -- fab news, yay!
Luci -- niiiice Edgetar!
CJ -- does the new bike mean the no-smoking thing is sticking? Good for you!
Sea -- welcome back!
LF -- yay, good to hear you're feeling better!
I'm looking forward to the weekend! No big plans, but sometimes that's a *good* thing.

I am feeling absolutely *&%$ing fed up.
Five days now no running water. I've had enough. I feel dirty stinky grotty and I'm knackered from carrying crates of water home from supermarket carpark. I feel like thumping someone, and I haven't done that since I was about seven.
I want to be clean, to flush my toilet properly, do some laundry , not have to THINK will every little thing I do waste water!

Sounds similar to what I went through the summer of 1992, after Hurricane Andrew when I lived in south Florida, and the summer of 2004, when the paths of Hurricanes Charley, Frances, and Jeanne all intersected over FIL's house in the middle of the state. I hope to never live through such again, but I take my Hurricane supplies preparedness very seriously each year, even here in Gator Town.

Menolly, I'm sorry to hear about that, but I had LOTS OF FUN during the '04 Hurricane Season.

Heh...I can just imagine. If Hyperception's tales of his adolescence is any example I don't think I want to know. Where was your family located that summer?

Gainesville, FL. And I was 'freelancing' for the Humane Society while delivering pizza. So guess what I did a lot of.

Oh man; I feel you...our well goes dry pretty much every summer..
In the middle of a heat wave right now...I've gone to bathing the kids in the same bath water...then using it myself....then using the same water to flush the days effluent down the toilet.

Happy as all Seven (or Nine, or however many you want) Hells, because my girlfriend is coming to visit me whenever i get her a plane ticket, and we shall spend days cuddling interrupted by movement only to keep the vultures from thinking we're fair game, because no one likes to be eaten by vultures, although if you startle one, they regurgitate, which is kind of nice, since it's like getting a free, predigested meal.
Oh my god. I'm happy. The Emotional Leper, Lord Emo, Emo of the Endless, is happy.
I realise none of you know how awesome of an event this is. However, I will advise you that if any of you feel like taking a holiday, say, due to religious reasons, because the world is about to end, now is the time.
I love you all.
God, I'm happy.

Sorry all for being grumpy yesterday. Still no running water but a friendly neighbour (with a car!) drove me to water point last night and we got about 40 2litre bottles in, which takes away the worry for a few days anyway! Also more torrential rain forecast for tonight, which is worrying as there may be more flooding, but at least it'll replenish my water-butt (run-off from roof) so toilet flushing and wash worries should recede too.
Got a glass of Savignon Blanc in hand, am on KW, day off tomorrow, so feeling alot more positive.
Drew, is your well your only water source most of the time? I think I'd go insane if I was reliant on mother nature for water all the time!
On the positive side, though the flooding has had knock-on effects in taking out our water supply, I am grateful that I don't have a house flooded with sewerage to deal with, with no running water! Will try and get some photos posted. Worst flooding was in Tewkesbury, about ten miles north of here, though Gloucester 5 miles south was pretty bad hit too. Only parts of Cheltenham where I live were affected. Gf had to get a friendly passerby to support her as she walked to work through the raging current that was the river Chelt, when it flooded a road on her route.

The river Chelt, by the way, is normally a piddly little stream that a five year old could jump over bank to bank along most of its course!
