Stone...yes, we live in the country, not on any municipal water...there's a laundrymat not too far away; and we have relatives in the city we can bathe at if it gets too bad.

When we had a hurricane a few years back that knocked out the power for a couple of weeks, it wasn't so bad for us...no power, but a well FULL of water...just had to fish it out with a bucket, and then boil it on the Barbecue.

Just let me be the first to see the irony of your picture of the flooded street under the Cheltenham bridge....directly below is your quote: Oxymoron: Too wet

Frustrated...

I was busy making a Pantheon move last night until 2:30 am, while awaiting a cell phone call from the FBH party, and had been online all day via my dial-up with no problem. I signed off, shut down AOL, and went to sleep. This morning, I have no dial tone, and when I use my cell phone to call home all I'm getting is a busy signal, as if my modem never disconnected.

I've disconnected the lap top, and have tried engaging and disengaging all the other phone extensions in my duplex. Still dead. So, I'm at the UF 24 hour computer architecture lab while Hyperception is at the gym, and will await the telephone line repairman tomorrow...grrr...

You should fly American. I'm waiting near the gate for my flight, which is on time for 4:30. :P

So...I come home from the computer lab and my phone line is fine. Call AT&T to see if they sent out an emergency tech, and the answer is "no." Cancelled the service request.

Now just watch and see the same thing happen tomorrow...

Such is the luck of the Mortimer bloodline...

I feel sad and angry/annoyed and melancholy at the same time. Almost like I'm going to explode.

One of my good friends is getting kicked out of her house (but I guess her Mom said she could stay?) and now the room mates she had lined up are bailing on her. She just got the news today, so because SHE'S sad, I'M sad. *sigh* Why does everything have to be so damned complex?

On TOP of that, a certain coworker has earned my everlasting and blinding rage. I HATE this guy. On the lighter side, I LOVE everyone else I work with. The second part of this emotion is my management. They're no longer using the manager that has been with the Ushers since day one, so the whole usher system is falling apart. It pissed me off SO BAD.

I'm melancholy because I now find myself having feelings for a girl thats already taken. *tiredly rubbing eyes* This sucks.

I either need a good cry or I need to blow something up.

If you can be there to listen to her vent without getting too emotional yourself, that's great. If not, be sure to take care of yourself first. You can't be supportive for her if you're not strong yourself.

Simply put, office politics and games suck. I despise them. Can anyone here picture me even attempting to follow corporate rules?

Didn't think so...

Aww man...

This is so hard to handle. Is it a close friend or someone you can slowly break away from, if that's what would be easier for you?

Welll...

There is always the Oh Criminey thread over in the Galley...

BTW, I love your new Edgetar!!

I feel exhausted. Irrational Sanity just left and he's the final watcher to go. Well Danlo and Lady Tam are still in town but they are out on a hot date. They also leave tomorrow to fly home so we won't get to see them again this trip. I also feel so loved and so much love. What an amazing weekend. My cup runneth over. Now I think I need a nap.

I have made it home. Mani was so excited he overcame his dislike of going down the stairs at night to greet me by hopping around like a wild dog.

What a grand time it was! I'll post on it tomorrow and work on getting some pictures up, but tonight, I think it's time to sleep.

Not to pick on you man, but it's something we should all think about.
...According to the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), more than a billion people continue to live and work in abject poverty with no access to clean and safe drinking water.

So now I hear that the girl I have feelings for and my good friend (the boyfriend) are having troubles.

So.

How does one date the ex of your close friend without breaking the man-code?

Didn't they do a "Man Law" about that on the Lite ad?

Seriously, it depends on how long they've been going out. The longer they've been going out, the longer you wait.

Had to go to the dermatologist today... waited one hour before she could see me. I had to remove a mole... but apparently they had to cut more than expected, so now I'm in stitches and - because the wound is on the back, near the shoulder - I can't move around too much. I'd really like to know what anaesthetic they gave me - it's been over three hours now and I still don't feel anything! :P Well, fourteen days and then I'll be rid of the whole thing...

And you DRANK that? I am amazed that you could muster so much confidence in scientists. Enough to actully gulp down something like that just because they tell you to? ;)
Wiki wrote:Barium sulfate is frequently used clinically as a radiocontrast agent for X-ray imaging and other diagnostic procedures. It is most often used in imaging of the GI tract during what is colloquially known as a 'Barium meal'.

It is administered, orally or by enema, as a suspension of fine particles in an aqueous solution (often with sweetening agents added). Although barium is a heavy metal, and its water soluble compounds are often highly toxic, the extremely low solubility of barium sulfate protects the patient from absorbing harmful amounts of the metal. Barium sulfate is also readily removed from the body, unlike Thorotrast, which it replaced. The compound works due to barium's relatively high atomic number (Z = 56), since large nuclei absorb X-rays much better than smaller nuclei.
As for your usual suspicion towards scientists, one of the largest scandals in the last century was the Thorotrast case, whic was actually an x-ray contrast drug.

It would appear that we have come a long way since then, thank God.

I hope that the scan revealed nothing out of the ordinary, and that you are in good healt.
