I was wondering where everybody'd got to, as well. Come on, you guys, real lives are not allowed!

There is. The giant forklift to pull you people out of your house once it falls apart.

I would gladly trade my real life for a cyber life atm. 4 assignments in 4 weeks. One is half way done. *stressed*

I got to play with BEES today! Bloodguard Bob picked up his colony and Heatherly and I helped get the bees into the new hive. They were so beautiful. I had bees land on me and wasn't even phased. The first one to land on me was at the bee store when picking up the colony and it first landed next to my eyebrow at my temple then wandered up to my hair then took off after a minute. The whole colony installation process was a lot less fuss than I imagined. Quite tame actually. I even took off my bee hat quite early on because there was no swarming or craziness. Anyway, we got them in and then later we went down and I took a bunch of pics with the macro lens which will be posted soon in the photography thread. SO cool. I'm simply buzzing with excitement. I even made a point of choosing which bee colony out of the boxes I wanted. Chris agreed readily to my choice. I love them. I love all approx 10,000 of my new bee kids. Ok, really they are his bees but I am backup beekeeper so I get to be their honeybee momma.

"buzzing with excitement." Jenn --
Still packing. Sigh.
And -- oh yeah -- yesterday morning I got up and went online to check a few things, walked away from the computer for a little while, and when I went back, I couldn't get back online. The modem's been wonky lately, so I rebooted the whole system a couple of times to see if that was the problem. No dice. So I called Verizon to see if maybe they'd switched my internet service over to the new apartment waaaay too early. The tech support person was not very helpful, to say the least.
This morning, internet access is back on. So either Verizon figured out this morning that they'd screwed up yesterday, or the modem is really on its last legs, or something. I guess I'll find out for sure if/when it happens again....

Is this on the laptop Magickmaker gave you?
Has she had similar problems with it before?

I am using Magickmaker's old laptop, but the laptop's not the problem. It's definitely either the modem or Verizon. Verizon helpfully labels the little lights on their modem boxes. The wireless and DSL lights were lit, but not the light for the Internet.
Anyhow, it's holding steady today. Fingers crossed.
And Infelice, sorry about your cold.

Feel better soon!

Is the power light red or green? I use a different brand (AT&T), but my power light went red at about the same time the other lights started fading when my router died.
I also got hijacked and had my entire computer system trashed the same day, which may have been my router's firewall failing or a complete coincidence.
I've had bad luck with technology this year.

Bummer, Sorus. The power light is green now. Pretty sure it was green when the internet light was out, too, but I'm not 100% sure (and I'm sure you'll forgive me for not attempting to recreate the problem

).

have not been much support to people around here these days......sorry for that.....i really am.
been blue, blue, blue. i miss my friend Chris. taking his loss pretty hard. Chris's son attempted to kill himself last week. the college dorm staff thwarted his attempt. they sent him home to his mom and brother after he got out of the hospital. such sad stuff. i am taking the family to atlantic city for the weekend. not to gamble, just to get away, walk on the boardwalk and feel the ocean breezes. it mends things for me, so maybe it will help.
there is a huge hole where he was. he was the only person in my life that was the artist, the person i could talk about the crazy film i saw or the weird art exhibit or the pictures i took. i like the people in my life but they are social workers and secretaries, not artists and photographers. i really tells me i need to spread my wings.
life is short my friends, go hug someone.

Yeah, I just got done with my move; did 95% of the move all by myself. Did some damage; right shin's almost healed though. The whole thing took 2 weeks, from the first trip to finally getting the living room set up last Saturday. I never want to do a move by myself ever again......

I'm tired. I worked at a different store today and took on a huge job which kept me bustling non stop most of the day and there is still part of it left over for Neil tomorrow. It was a job that really should have been sent out but the woman was on a time constriction and I didn't want to lose the job.
Lorin, hugs.
