Can anybody answer a question for me? Why do the 4 day work weeks seem so much longer than the 5 day work weeks?

Must say that's never been a problem for me. :D I always appreciate a short week.

How do I feel? Work drama. Technical issues, clients freaking out, damage control. Bah.

Sorry for the work stress. I, for once, am on vacation.

Hubby and I are in Accra, Ghana, staying in the nicest little inn. Ghana is so much more relaxed than Nigeria, and it took putting two other countries between us and Nigeria (Togo and Benin) to be able to get truly away.

We did not, as I feared, have a horrific flight, :D there was no water in the airplane bathroom but that was it!

Sending relaxation vibes to all my working friends!!!

Having a relaxing evening. And as if to compliment my mood there's a low bank of dark grey clouds on the horizon because it failed to rain today. A mass of swirly red and orange clouds have turned the dusk to ultra-violet. And above there's a new moon high in a clear blue sky. The sun set too early this evening, it seems the weather still aint finished with the day (:

Sounds pretty.

I've got helicopters directly overhead, which is usually code for 'what's on fire now?' but apparently it isn't a fire this time.

This neighborhood is never dull. That's not necessarily a good thing.

When did 'we don't know what's going on but here's what people are saying about it on Twitter' start qualifying as news?

I am having a really hyper day.
Don't you love it when you meet someone, and the very first time, you get to have a serious conversation about topics you both care about a lot?
I had that happen today.
(I've started viewing that as a rare privilege to get to enjoy occasionally, instead of thinking "why doesn't this happen more often?")

Still jumpy/nervous about work-related stuff and tasks undone, though.

deer- GLAD you guys made it there alright.
And I am delighting in the fact that you could get away & that it's so much more relaxed!

Rune- Love the description of nature's beauty.

Apparently someone set off fireworks in a local hospital. All kinds of stupid, but no one was injured.

Local news decided it was better to publish an article consisting of random twits saying "It's a bomb! It's an active shooter!", rather than say that whatever happened was still under investigation. Gah.

Glad you're having a great day, Linna. :)

Deer, you're in charge of vacationing for the rest of us.

For the second evening in a row, Traveling Guy has pinged me just as I'm about to leave work and asked me to do something for him that simply can't wait 'til the morning. Arrgh. He'll be back in my time zone again tomorrow, which had better improve things...

Weekend finally. Tech issues resolved late yesterday, so got some stuff to do today that couldn't be done while everything was broken. Meh.

Exhausted. Just submitted a tender for a 3 year contract - hoping it's us that get the gig! I can't even wind down with a beer because of this damn Dry July thing I committed to!

Oh well, might treat myself to a fancy non-alcoholic drink of some sort...

Good luck. :D Submitting tenders sucks. So much work to put together all the stuff they want.

Monday. Here we go again. :D

Hangover day. Debating whether to go and see Tarzan .......could be risky with all that 3D tree swinging and stuff.

I read a review of Tarzan by a woman who wrote it after she'd had a few glasses of wine. Seems she was a tad distracted by the guy playing Tarzan...

Monday. Not feeling the motivation today. Bleah...

Oh! I should probably leave it for danlo to mention, but since he's NEVER FREAKING HERE  : He posted on Facebook yesterday that he'd connected with David Zindell, who wrote the Neverness books, and that the guy had even been by the Hangar. 8O

(Translation for newbies: danlo, our other admin here at the Watch, has always been a big fan of Zindell's work -- so much so that he started his own message board, called Ahira's Hangar, for Zindell's fans. A bunch of Watchers are also members at the Hangar, although it never took off the way the Watch has.)

I'm all over that. :D

Saw the Jungle Book in a movie theater today-- that was Stag's choice. It was lots of fun. Christopher Walken as King Louie!!! Loved that.

Wow, that's pretty cool. I always feel bad about the Hangar...I just can't keep up the way I used to. :( Sorry Danlo.

I feel like yesterday was suddenly quiet again. Now it's Tuesday...but I could really do with...say...Friday...

I don't have much to say in the Tank right now, either...

Friday would be excellent right about now.

I feel bad about not being at the Hangar as much, too, especially because it was the only way I was keeping in contact with Duchess. :( I see her on Facebook sometimes, but...
