Whilst that was amusing, it is annoying to have lent power to an endeavour that will not take place.

This is why it's important to send your moves in on time.

I'd like to clarify something about the deadline, but before I do so, I'd like to state that I'm not pointing the finger against anyone here: I do feel the need to clarify this point, however.

The reason why we have a deadline, even if the next turn then takes two days to arrive, is because a player's actions don't exist in a vacuum, but often interact (knowingly or not) with those of other deities. Apart from the fact that deities often learn the actions or events of other deities through their spheres of influence, there are always situations in which two or more gods interact when trying to influence a single event, or diametrically opposed events which focus on the same thing.

If a player doesn't send in the moves by the deadline, then I have two options: either I start processing the turn without him/her, or I wait until he/she sends the moves. In the first case, should the player send the moves later, he/she forces me to partially re-do the whole turn to accommodate his/her actions and events; in the second case, the other players cannot receive their turn until the player submits his/her moves, which might take even a few days. And - given previous experiences with some of the players - I have no way of telling whether a god's lateness is because he/she couldn't connect, or because he/she doesn't really pay too much attention to deadlines, or because he/she is lazy and will likely quit the game sooner or later.

So, from now on, I'd appreciate it if you all stick to the deadline. I'm willing to offer exceptions to the rule, but only if the situation really warrants it. After all, technically speaking you do have a whole week in which to send in your moves. I'm sorry to sound so authoritarian, but it does take me a while to process turns, and I don't want to spend three hours on it, or to have to do it at work on mondays or tuesdays, if I can avoid it.

Thanks.

Edit: On an unrelated note, please take a look at the new rules on vassaldom, which you can find at the beginning of this Rules thread.

Sounds fair enough to me - the game runs better when the deadlines are as regular as possible.

I just want to thank you for all the effort you put in to Pantheon Xar. it's an awesome game and you're an awesome fellow.

PS - Lieges and vassals: I like! :D

Ah, Luci, you let your own secret out. And after going to at least some lengths to make sure nobody found out.

So now I guess we insist that everyone who wants to join the game must demonstrate the ability to get online from more than one physical location?

After Norn suggested rl may have been the problem, I checked, and saw that Lucimay had not posted for some 13 hours before the deadline. It seemed that something must have been up. Glad it was only your server.

And, of course, I'll echo thanks to Xar for all the effort you put into this. (Although I probably only say such to stop you from throwing crap at Shakari. :D)

Welp, I knew he'd do something eventually, but I didn't see it coming. Thanks a bunch, stonemaybe, for making more cause for enmity between Undine and Maeror.

(Oh, and thanks to Xar for what looks suspiciously like a get out of jail free card. Only a word, eh?)

Has the turn summary been updated on the game thread? I'm still only seeing the Turn 12 summary.
