Just in time for Vyn and me to go traveling.
Poor Laurel still hasn't finished leveling up...

From the outtakes:
Led Pighp wrote:Led perks up. "Fighting a wyrm..." He approaches Kali, and leans in close to her chest to inspect the clothing, he sniffs at it and tries to catch the sheen of light off the scales.
"Like what you see, kitty-cat?"

"It looks like darker trout scales. And I smell fish, very strongly. Do you have any tuna?"
He turns, and notices that the mostly female party seems to be pairing up. "Oh. Not tuna."
Dejected, he takes on Barrak's bag of smoking herb and sniif it. "Not catnip, either..."

I cast Scorching Ray at Led's tail.
"That's my tuna. Bad kitty!"
"Sigrid won't come out of the tent. She says she's not leaving her room until Annalysei comes back to her. She was listening to the Cure when I talked to her. But I heard country music as I left."

Led's just jealous that Sigrid is cuter than he is.

Plus all of the girl action is probably making his Y chromosome act up.
Poofing in briefly from another plane of existence, Anna hears Sorchat's words and runs off to comfort Sigrid. No one should have to listen to country music. That's just cruel.

little more often, husband's back surgery went well, other than a brief stint in ICU because he decided that breathing was for chumps and didn't want to do it on a regular basis. He's home now and exceedingly cranky and of course, not wanting to take his medicine.)

YAY for Mister Anna doing better. He needs to take them, even if it's through crushing and adding them to his food.
Beyond just stopping the pain, the pain killers will keep him mellow, and sleepy, which is good for healing.

Goat was never the same after his spine surgery. He's still funny. But a girl's got needs. And I'm not into gimps.
I'll be there for you, Anna. When your gimp isn't enough.

Lol @ Siggy. "Yeah, time to get your back fixed, dear. You've got a job to do. Chop chop." What did goat have done? R had a hemilaminectomy. (basically they fixed his herniated discs)
And if Mr Ellie doesn't take his damn pills, he's going to find them shoved up his butt, which will be unpleasant for everyone involved, but most unpleasant for him. ยป:(

They'd actually enter the body faster and with a much stronger effect, bypassing the liver. I'd be careful doses administered like that. :p

So I shouldn't shove the entire bottle of pills up there? Whoops.
ETA: Coroner to police : "yeah, it's the damndest thing...sixty pills, straight up the tailpipe, along with a note that said "i told you to take them!"

The funniest part is that she wrote the note somehow expecting him to be able to take it out of there and read it, later.
"Oh! That's what she was going on about."
For my part, I also had a herniated disk, but up in my neck. They removed it, and replaced it with a titanium artificial disk. I was part of an FDA study. An experimental procedure. They have the technology. They can make me faster, stronger, better. But instead, they just made me slightly more able to turn my head.
On the other hand, it's also the greatest body piercing anybody will ever get. Ever. I have a $10,000 titanium cybernetic part in my spine. Your septum bridge just isn't that impressive, you know?

What happens if you need an mri? Is titanium nonmagnetic?
That's pretty nifty that you have the pictures from it. Did you hurt your neck in an accident?

by Led Pighp
Titanium is nonferrous. I don't even set off the metal detectors at the airports. They gave me an ID card, just in case, but I've never needed to present it. I guess being grounded inside the flesh changes the properties of the metal? (Remind anybody of the physics of Terminator time travel?)
I've had an MRI, though it's so dense that it distorts the image right there... making that part of my neck impossible to see. But, the machine didn't rip it out of my neck or anything. (I'm extra excited by the fact that I got to pay like $1000 for that MRI that showed nothing, even after I told the new doctor that it would show nothing.)
I did not hurt my neck in an accident. In fact, I'm not sure how it got hurt. We think it was just slowly degraded over time, maybe compounded by visiting a chiropractor frequently. Not that I'm dogging chiropractors, I just happened to have the one thing that would get made worse by chiropracty, I guess. And they didn't notice it. And it made me worse.
Or maybe it didn't. It's hard to say.

So is Kali naturally flame-resistant or is she going to need some frilly fireproof undergarments?

Naturally flame-resistant, thankfully.
For the narrative what I do is "speak" or think in first person, but describe actions in third person. That way it reads like others would perceive my actions, or at least read like a book.

I was doing third person up until now, but I guess talking with sigrid so much I wound up accidentally doing first person and kind of liked it, but what you're saying makes sense...i may start doing something like that. I'll eventually get it nailed down.
And good thing you're flame-resistant. Otherwise you'd need to stock up on magical solarcaine. Barrels of it.

Once you go first, you never go third.

Heh. It is a personal preference. Some situations may be better in first. My English teachers always criticized how I'd write passively, and I still don't "get" how to change it. I write what works for me.
