Here, Holsety:
Menolly, good to see you around again.
Magickmaker and I are in Roanoke this weekend. We were supposed to be helping Batty and Shara Lunison unload all their worldly belongings from the crate, now that they've moved back here. Alas, the crate delivery is late. However, we had a good visit with them today, and also met up with the girls' dad and aunt. And I unloaded some furniture on them, freeing up space in my apartment, and also helped them pick up a new-to-them couch from Goodwill.

As for Holsety's part; I'm afraid that's beyond my ability to explain.

Had a fabulous weekend. Beach with dogs and barbecuing and a bit of sunburn but not so bad it's irritating. Nice Sunday with the bees and bonding with Albert and John and Edward from next door. Added a bit of flair to the beehive with my classic love of seventies flower patterns. Should look cool when the bees are crawling in and out of the center of the flowers on the front surface. Chris painted the new layer that is going on this week sometime. He did that layer in a washed blue that looks like dappled water. Each layer should be different so that the bees can easier differentiate which entrance to use when returning to the hive since the pollen makes them a bit tired and often woozy. When it comes to the next layer I am thinking a row of tulips coming up from the bottom of the bee box. I think that would be pretty.

I think I am talking to myself lately....
I started at the new store today. Acclimated myself with a location test and when I turned it in completely I got a shocked reaction at being done already, then I sat in the office and did training stuff for the rest of the day. My new staff seems very nice and friendly, eager to introduce themselves and make me welcome.

Maybe this store won't be like high school, Jenn....
And I know what you mean about talking to yourself. The Watch sure has been quiet lately.
Nothing new to report here, mostly. We're getting Outlook 2007 at work today -- wish me luck. Oh, and Magickmaker and I discovered half-price pasta night at a neighborhood restaurant last night. This might have to become a weekly thing.
Best of all, Magickmaker paid for dinner!

The Watch has been quite lately!
Cameraman Jenn, I rarely post anything in this thread but I always look in here to catch up on your latest post. I haven't owned a telly for a few years so this corner of the Watch has now become my favourite 'soap'.
Seeing all the pictures of the bees reminded me that I'd not tasted honey for ages. So I've been trying the various honey on offer at the local shops. This morning I bought a fresh jar of Wild Forest Honey. Yum!
I really liked (
) the episode when you helped the out-of-towner catch a taxi - and then your neighbour letting you use a piece of his property to expand your bee hives. Good Karma!
Maybe it seems like you've been talking to yourself, but I'm certainly listening.

Thanks Ali and Krazy Kat! I'm off to another day at the new store. Tina, my new boss told me not to bother with the uniform since I'll be doing my online required training videos and quizzes today... all day.... I have a two hour sexual harrassment and how to deal with it video up first in my cue this morning. Ugh. Oh well, once it's out of the way it will be fun.

Training videos are so booooring. I had to watch a good portion of them when I was shift supervisor at Tim Horton's...personally, I wanted to shoot myself in the face...

And it's like I always say: It's okay to talk to yourself. When you start getting answers back -- that's when it's time to worry.

Soo.... I was watching the sexual harrassment two hour torture video and about three quarters of the way through it, one of the department managers I had yet to meet comes in to the office. He smiles at me and says, "You must be Jenn." held out his hand for shaking then says, "It's a pleasure to meet you." i smiled, shook his hand and said, "Nice to meet you too." but in my head I was thinking.... "HELLLLOOOOO Edward. (insert lascivious Joey Tribiani voice) How YOU doing?" Then all i could think of was Shepherd Book from Firefly episode, "Mrs. Renyolds" telling me I was going to the special hell. I made up for my evilness though. I got the same bus driver on my way back to the bart station tonight, the one who answered all my transportation questions last night. He asked me how my second day at the new job went and I told him good and asked about his day and we had a pleasant conversation most of the way to the bart station. Then as I got off the bus an elderly lady was exiting with her luggage on a wheel cart so I helped her down the stairs with it then told her to hold on while I tucked the shoulder strap in and told her I didn't want her to get the straps caught in the escalator. She told me I was sweet and thanked me and I said no problem. When I straightened up from tucking in the straps, the bus driver was standing in the doorway of the bus and smiled at me and winked and said he liked my style so I winked back and said thanks. I may be going to the special hell but I figure that earned me a ten minute cigarette break...

I think men shouldn't be allowed to get grumpy with their woman, especially when they asked their woman to help and she helped but didn't help in the right way. ...and even if that isn't the best formed sentence I think that you all know what I mean...or you should!!!!! Especially you men!!!!!!!
...oh, I don't mean any of the men here, of course!!!!!!

I have a pocketful of Annoy-A-Trons. This will take some careful planning. The first one isn't doing much right now. They're also managing to ignore the louder and more annoying low-battery alert on one of the door alarms.
Time to take things to the next level.

I feel like I have been working my way out of a thick gray sludge.
spent the last month emptying out my house, cleaning away the years of accumulated crap. Feels good, feels light. It makes me realize the insanity of all this 'stuff' choking away my life.
Feel like there are changes in the wind.............

Purging is amazingly cathartic.
Went to the dentist this morning to have a filling replaced. I took the day off from work because I had a bad feeling that the dentist was going to drill and drill and then tell me I needed a root canal or something equally dire and expensive. Happily, that didn't happen.
I'm now done with acquiring stuff for the apartment, huzzah! Except for a solution to the shower curtain dilemma. The bathtub here is narrower than the one at the old place, and/or the shower curtain rod is hung too close to the shower head. I'm not sure which. Regardless, the shower curtain keeps trying to be my close, personal friend every time I take a shower.
I've put magnets on the bottom of the shower curtain but it's not really helping -- the curtain still billows inward.
I'd replace the current rod with a curved rod, except that the guys who installed the current rod used torque-head (sp?) screws -- the kind with a square hole instead of a normal slot or Phillips hole. I assume they did it to keep people from swapping out the rod (bastidges!
). Anyway, I may get a tension rod and see if that helps.

Yeah, getting rid of clutter feels great.
Good to hear about a dental trip going better than expected - I, on the other hand, do need a root canal and more, and am putting it off because I seriously can't afford it right now. Also can't afford to put it off much longer. Yay for debt and jobs that barely pay the rent.
