Books?

A Dance With Dragons and The Last Dark have been collecting dust on my bookshelf, unread.

I wish I had time for books.

I feel like the Watch suddenly went nearly silent beginning Friday morning through to 6pm EST today. Was there a party somewhere I wasn't invited to? :-)

Ditto on the not enough sleep. I don't get holidays, so I'm working long days the rest of the week to compensate. (They could have let me use the vacation time they won't let me use for anything else, but no. Apparently vacation time is decorative.) Plus stressed out because my youngest cat just had surgery - she did well, but it's rather ominous when a vet with 30+ years of experience comments that they've never seen kidney stones quite like the ones my cat had. They sent them out for analysis, but who knows how long that will take. Add tension headaches from work stress and waking up several times a night with anxiety attacks - it's going to be a long week.

Boo.. that is some hard stuff, Sorus. :-(
Boo about the vacation time..
"People without hope not only don't write novels, but what is more to the point, they don't read them.
They don't take long looks at anything, because they lack the courage.
The way to despair is to refuse to have any kind of experience, and the novel, of course, is a way to have experience."
-Flannery O'Connor

"In spite of much that militates against quietness there are people who still read books. They are the people who keep me going."

Funny how that's always the goal huh?

Me, I feel like it's Monday.

I also feel like it's 3 weeks to go until I'm on leave.

Monday after a long holiday weekend and I'm still not finished decorating for Christmas. So much still to do. Nevermind that. Time to get back to work work. :-)

You don't understand how MUCH we decorate for Christmas. We host the annual family Christmas party and the Wife and I want the place to be something special especially for the little ones. We have a "Count the Santas" contest. Last year the winner guessed 46. Pictures of Santa don't count. They must be three dimensional figures.

Madness. :D I'm already gritting my teeth through Christmas carols being played in the shops. (You Americans do tend to go a bit overboard on the whole decorations thing, I must say. ;) )

Damn right!! If it ain't over the top it ain't worth doin. That should be a quote. :-)

My wife and I love everything about Christmas and the holiday season with the possible exception of being stuck in the blast furnace known as Tampa Florida. We also like theme parks. What better way to combine the two by creating a theme park in our house for a month every year.
