You see? Wow, that's like, a miracle, right? But wait, you never said you were blind before.....therefore, you could always see, which makes it a substantially less impressive miracle.

as a carpenter i feel the need to point out how incredibly unwise it would be for a blind man to enter the profession. equal rights are one thing and i'm all for the sentiment but you really would be pusing the boat out a little far on this one.

Turiya is still missing. maybe she finally went completely crazy and is curretly serving aboard the good ship Moonshine fighting galactic super bunnies in the deep recesses of her own mind.

it is strange how so many people just leave out of the blue. they usually fine there way back but if i was going to be missing(just recently) i would say something. :?

also, looking through the list of members, its funny that some people who joined before runes came out never came back to discuss it. i suppose some may have under different names or just browsed without posting but there are some who have 2 or 3 hundred posts that just vanished for no apparent reason.

maybe the watch is cursed...it will get us all in the end!

Ah, the vagaries of virtual communities. People appear randomly out of the void of cyberspace, briefly join in the Ritual of Online Discussion, then just as randomly disappear back into the void, leaving behind only a quaint body of posts to speak for their existence.

Scattered as Donaldson readers are across the globe, maybe it's no small feat that the Watch community has stayed intact for as long as it has, despite membership changes (and the passing away of at least one member we know of) in the intervening years.

After checking through this thread, I came up with these numbers:

87 total MIA names submitted
27 have not posted in over a year
10 have not posted in over 6 months
9 have posted in the last 6 months but not since Dec '05
14 have not posted since Jan '06
27 have returned or have remained active since the previous month

So 43% of those "officially" MIA here have not been heard from in six months or more. That's a fair number of missed Watchers, among them Myste, fightingmyinstincts, kastenessen...give us a sign here, smoke signals, anything...

Syweir...gone since Jan '05. I hope she returns at some point.

A Gunslinger...gone for a year and 4 months now. What a good guy to go missing.

Hopefully, with the release of the next book in the Last Chrons, some of our absent colleagues will at least drop by.

she is very cool...she only works 4 blocks from my work and i guess i could go down there and hunt her up but she's very private and i wouldn't want to intrude or make a nuisance of myself....

she DOES lurk occasionally tho...she'll pop back in soon i hope!!!

Aww... You guys are the best. I've been going through hell at work - this is the first time I've even checked my email in about a month. Haven't been in any state of mind that I'd want to inflict on people I care about. (Still not, but I will try to check in a little more often though I probably won't be posting much.)
