I am feeling very relaxed and peaceful right now -- or as relaxed and peaceful as someone can be while still at work. I got rid of all my attorneys today! One left early this morning for a two-day meeting in New York; the second left for New Orleans at noon for a meeting tomorrow; and the third is on a plane to San Diego right now to speak at a conference, and won't be back 'til Friday afternoon. I've already been to Starbucks. I guess now I should plan a nice, long, leisurely lunch for tomorrow....

SQ...that's wonderful, but what is the story with your kids and the custody issues with your ex?

You get us invested in one aspect of your life, disappear for a while, then come back talking about something completely different?

on new med for my ankle. pentazocine. because i was supposed to have a patch that goes on my ankle - but my insurance company vetoed that.

still taking hydroco for my back. and neither on eis helping right now. :(

when i was 16 i had a staph infection in my ankle. very high temp and massive swelling. they cut open my ankle and let the infection bleed out. (it is worse than it sounds)

i was in the hospital a couple of nights. my first night there the combo of fever and whatever pain meds i was on caused hallucinations. :)

i was on constant antibiotics even when i went home. iv antibitics that i had to plug into my arm port on my home at home.

long story long, the infection ate the bone in my ankle. i no longer have a ball and socket - just two planes.

the last x-ray i had? the doctor asked how it was i was even walking - as it was the worst he had ever seen. basically scar tissue is holding that ankle together.

it needs to be opened, cleaned and fused. but that could take three months healing time at home.

so the doctor said seeing that i really can not damage anymore - go till i've had enough. it's been 25 years of constant pain. but i can't afford to sit at home that long. :(

i need to win the lottery. :)

Last night while I was walking the dog I noticed a fine fingernail of moon hanging just above the horizon and it was blood red! I raced home to get my camera but by the time I got back the moon had set <sigh> but WHOA, I was thinking First Chronicles. Really cool!

Drool Rockworm? Oh noes... ;)

Sarge, I hope you feel better soon. Or that they give you better drugs. (I've always been partial to Tylenol 3 myself... )

So needless to say, my much-looked-forward-to "nothing to do" day at work morphed into a mess. A client asked one of my attorneys for some details of their bill (it's a big one...) and because my attorney spent today in testimony, guess who got to go through the bill with the accounting folks? Ugh. :( At least I got to go to Starbucks yesterday.... :(

I'm feeling very lonely this morning. Facebook chat isn't working for me, and neither is Skype, and I wanted to talk to my family. We sent a few e-mails back and forth before I discovered that Skype wasn't going to work, and then the e-mails stopped coming. It's my sister's birthday, and I have a cold. I am so bummed.
