I shouldn't complain, because I really like my schedule in general (it's about the only redeeming feature of this job) - and losing my weekend earlier this month was a known annual thing, but now someone way up the food chain has discovered some motivational speaker that's going to 'change our lives' and now I'm losing a weekend to the training/meetings and whatnot, which I'm less thrilled about. They've done this before. Our lives are unchanged. Give me my weekend or I will bite someone.

Update..
Feeling better since my stent emplacement from April 6th.
Now if only I could win the lottery.. Darn bills for the procedure coming home...
(after insurance) But I will manage.. I do think I have good budgeting abilities.
and I don't know if I should consult with my cardiologist or a plumber. :?

and when meeting with such, should I sing that old Irish song..

"Oh Danny boy!, my pipes , my pipes are clogging......."

Sheesh, I would have plenty to complain about. Only Sunday's and evenings off? Madness. :D

Why do you feel disappointed?

I believe it's because of that feeling you get when it seems you're having a one way conversation :D

Unfortunately it happens on the Watch a bit. Still, I feel reasonable today, so that's positive!

I don't have energy to do much except complain about work, and I do too much of that already.

I shall respond by being unreasonable. :D

At least its Friday. And next week is a 3-day week for me, so that's good.

Today I feel much better. The Watch was pretty active last night and you can't say enough about that "Friday Feeling". :-)

Right, Monday, here we go. 3 day week for me, then a 5 day weekend, followed by a 4-day week.

Of course the downside is that 5 days work needs to be fitted into 3 days, but hey, that's the price we pay.

Also started a much, much overdue spring cleaning this weekend. (Like 2 years overdue. :D ) Will finish on the long weekend.

Treat it as a therapeutic break from the stresses of work Av  (I've got a couple of days in the garden ahead of me which I have to view in a similar light!)

Just keep your eye on the prize waiting for you after your short work week, Av.

You'll feel better when it's done. At least, I always do.

So do I...but that doesn't make it any more fun to do. :D That's why it's been so long delayed. :D

Tuesday...bloody clients...how I hate them.

I guess I'm the other way around - there are situations where I will procrastinate, but for spring cleaning and such, I have an actual compulsion to get it done. Which can be good and bad. There are reasons I live alone.

I got a client dumped on me today riiiight as I was leaving. Not my client. Of course they had a major problem, and of course I knew nothing about the problem since it wasn't my client or my department and communication is not a thing where I work. So I had to stay late, off the clock, cleaning up somebody else's mess. The client ended up happy, but I won't get credit for that. It's been a long week, and it's only Tuesday.

Yeah, my Tuesday was pretty damn rough...multiple clients with multiple problems. And since today is the last day until next Tuesday, I'm probably facing more of the same today. Madness.

Better get cracking. :D

Good luck. I am on day 11 of my second 12-day 'week' this month. I have not bitten anyone yet. I am a bit miffed because I requested a day off next month (on a holiday where there won't be much work in my department), and was informed that both my minion and I requested the day, but it had been given to me because I asked first. Minion promptly replies that he made plans and will be out of town. I did not have plans - I just wanted a day off, specifically chose one that (I thought) would cause minimum problems, and most importantly, asked for it because the trains will be on holiday schedule and I would either need to take the Stabby Bus or pay $20 for a taxi. Minion has a family and whatnot, and he deserves a day off as much as I do, but I resent that he expected me to give it up and didn't even thank me. I would never ask that of him - not that I'd be in that situation - I wouldn't make plans before it was approved and he should know better as well. And there isn't a good reason why we can't both have it, since there really isn't any work in our department that day, but whatever. Rant, rant, rant.

Sorus, that sucks!
You were sweet to give up the day. My advice? Schedule a different one immediately. :-)
