"Edificant" is third person plural. You want third person singular, -at, so it would be "edificat."

More importantly, the verb you chose refers more to walls, buildings, and fortifications. To "make something" is normally "facere," but you probably haven't been taught its conjugation yet. The proper form would be "fecit," and that would mean: "Alan made tables." That would be the most common way of expressing it. Whether in Classical or Medieval Latin.

Hmm, fair enough. I suppose building structures makes more sense. You're right about the confused number. Still, I've been learning for all of three hours.

And doing very well!
There's no way I would learn that quickly, even with both Hyperception and Beorn to coach me.

Happy joy joy... next week's schedule is up and this week I am on schedule for tuesday through saturday and next week finds me working sunday through thursday so ten days in a row before a day off. This on the heels of nine days in a row, my trip back east and straight back to work. I'm already exhausted so I have no idea how I am going to make it through without running myself into the ground. So I guess Friday of next week I'll go rent the storage unit and start packing and then Saturday move as much crap as I can.

I had to say goodbye to my darling dog today. We were privileged to share our lives with her for 12 years. Wonderful dog and very sadly missed.
Sleep well my Sashie.

And one for Jenn, too, because moving sucks, and so does the work schedule from hell: |G

Dropped off Magickmaker's cat at the vet in a downpour this morning. We've had several weeks of fine weather, so of course people have forgotten how to drive in rain. The cat needs her teeth cleaned ($450, ka-ching!) and possibly some pulled (up to another $500, ka-ching!). Poor thing was so confused last night. I had to pick up the food and water at 10pm. She just kept walking toward the place where her dishes should have been, and meowing at me.

Sorry to read this news, Infelice.

Farewell, Sashie.

Busy day of final preparations for company. Dam-sel and I have converted Spar Oom into a guest room. Now to get Dam-et to clean his bathroom after school. It is currently at Condition Ick; the goal being Condition Ewww or better.

I am this close to strangling someone (Orlion, no one can see your hand gestures on the Watch)....

Anyway, this guy thinks that somehow by asking reeeeally stupid questions about chemistry, he can somehow be my friend. For those curious, the inquiries take the form of : "I don't see why Calculus is necesary to learn physics or chemistry," or "couldn't we make water more basic, like at a pH of 11 by using electrolysis? And wouldn't that be bad because it would cancel out your stomach acid preventing the absorption of water and salt?"

Grrrr.... I believe the best course is to tell him to stop it, but everyone response essentially boils down to "don't talk to me, you damn dirty ape!" I've all ready asked my brother, who hasn't really studied chemistry, and he doesn't seem to think I'm over-reacting. I don't know, I think I should still calm down a bit before responding... apes tend to throw poo when they're angry :P

My condolences, Infelice.
Good luck, Jenn. Sounds like a helluva week.
Orlion: I can't even figure out what those questions are supposed to mean. I recommend suggesting that he buy a certain book (ISBN 0764554301), to avoid further annoyingly dumb questions.

 Yes, that actually embodies exactly what I want to say, but in such a tactful way! Thanks, Auleliel!

You're welcome, Orlion. ISBN's are a fantastic way to be vaguely specific. :)

Sorry about Sashie, that totally sucks. I too think about the joy my pets have given me and the joy I've given them when they have passed on to beloved pet spirit mecca.

Good luck to everyone with obstacles or frustrations, we can all work it out.

I am still tired, no surprise there. I need to do work laundry and I don't have a clue how I am going to get it done. The laundramats are not open long enough before or after I leave or get home so I am pretty screwed. I am gonna be hellaciously fragrant by the time next thursday rolls around.

Maybe that will convince them to give you a half-day off!

Ms. Morgana Kitty needed five teeth extracted. Total bill: $900. 8O That's it, I'm taking a break from pets after I relinquish responsibility for this one.

In other news, today's my boss's 40th birthday. He knows I'm getting him a cake but he doesn't know the whole department's invited to the party. I expect he won't be all that surprised, but still, it'll be a little something to break up the afternoon.

This weekend I'm doing the AIDS Walk (our firm is a sponsor). AATE is released in a little over two weeks, and WFC is a week and a half after that. October's gonna zip by!

I had a lovely "girl's day out" with my mom today. We went shopping for clothes, books, and yarn, and then we had coffee/tea at the B&N cafe, with Ghirardelli chocolates. My brother and I are going to watch Mythbusters tonight (our favorite show to watch together), so it's an all-around awesome day.

That sounds like fun Aulie! I had a rough day today. I am so overly exhausted and I snapped in frustration. I needed help getting something from the back and my co-worker started harping that the person I had helping me for TWO FREAKING MINUTES was supposed to be working on something else. I tried to tell him over the walkie that we were finished and my helper was back to doing what he was working on but my co-worker kept talking over me so he just kept repeating instead of listening to my answer and I snapped. It wasn't pretty. Then he tried to talk to me about it right then and there and I told him that it would be best to just leave me alone right then. He then went and got our other manager on duty to come bug me about it which just made me even angrier and more frustrated then he trapped me in the office when I went to get something and made me talk it out before I was ready. It wasn't satisfactory for me in any way.

Better today. I was out of town at the end of the week for work. For lunch on Friday, they had a local deli cater in. I had a chicken salad sandwich. It was good going down, but once it was down it felt like someone hit me in the stomach with a bat. I got through the couple more hours of the meeting remaining with not a churning but a kind of tight pain. It calmed down on the ride home, but about 10:30 that night, it came back fiercer than ever. I was about to take myself in when I vomited up the offending material. I slept fine after that though I did have a bit of a headache for most of the day Saturday. Now, on Sunday morning, it's o.k.

On a more pleasing note, I've been studying for the Technician class amateur radio license. I'm to take the test next Friday. The lowest class license in the U.S., it's been something I've wanted to do for a while and finally got around to working on. :)

So you're learning Morse code? Cool! My brother has done ham radio for years and years and years.

Oh, and sorry about the bad chicken salad. :(

Not a bad weekend here. The boss was surprised and pleased with the cake and with the turnout at his party, and kept thanking me for arranging it. Yesterday, I did the 5K AIDS Walk in DC. The weather couldn't have been better. I was supposed to meet a co-worker before the walk -- we were going to echolocate by cellphone at Metro Center (there are 4 exits from that station, and I didn't know where her bus would drop her off). Got to my bus stop and said, "Hm, wonder what time it is," pulled out the cell and realized the battery had died overnight. *Definitely* didn't have time to run upstairs for a quick recharge, so I just went on downtown. Got to Metro Center -- no co-worker. Walked over the Starbucks, got coffee, came back -- still no co-worker. Decided to walk to Freedom Plaza and hope that she had the sense to come on down, too. About five minutes before we were supposed to start walking, she showed up in a rush. She'd way overslept and ended up driving in. So there was a lot of "I'm so sorry!" and "It's okay!" going on.

Today I got my hair cut, saw a movie, did the grocery shopping, and tried *twice* to go to the pool -- it was too crowded for me both times. I might just have to bite the bullet and go early in the morning. Urk.

Morse code isn't required anymore, even for the higher license classes, though many still use it. Apparently, it was because even ships at sea use digital communication now. I do intend to learn it though, when I have some time after the test, because it does have advantages. There are, basically, short hand signals that make it easier to communicate with someone who speaks another language and yet still get basic information.
