First off, then. The above was great! Really really nice combinations.
Oh, then I have got to give it a try!
Stonemaybe wrote:As for never having fish curries!!!!! Fish curry is the only type of curry I make now! Just cook the curry as normal, grill a frozen pollack or whatever, add to the curry veg+sauce, midway through cooking. SO much nicer than chicken or beef or whatever.
In fact, seeing as I have some salmon fillet left over, that's what I'll use it for tomorrow! Mmmmmm
I'll have to give it a try. My favorite curries are made with steamed tofu, followed by various shellfish. But I'll try some fish sometime soon.

...you never showed up for my spaghetti the other night LF...
I think tonight will be the buffet at
I <3 NY Pizza. On Friday night's they do a seafood buffet with things like mussel marinara. Well worth the $9.99 plus tax and tip.

Sounds good, menolly. The only pizza buffet we have here is Cici's, which should be renamed Cardboard's.
My grandparents and I are about to depart for a local Chinese buffet. It's pretty good--even the sushi is fresh! I'm not very picky when it comes to buffet food, though my friend jokes about the low health ratings.

I hadn't made meatloaf in forever, I mean over a decade. I made some last night. I just winged it based on vague memories. It was delicious however, it fell apart because I forgot the eggs. DUH. Oh well. It was good anyway.

It was pretty simple, about a pound and a half of ground beef, a cup of rolled oats, a twelve ounce can of tomato sauce, one large yellow onion, finely diced, a tablespoon of minced garlic, half a teaspoon of cayenne, a teaspoon of paprika and liberally doused with salt and pepper. I put it in the oven for forty minutes covered and twenty minutes uncovered. I do recommend adding two eggs to this mix though, unless you want a pile of spiced ground beef on your plate.

If you have any leftover, sounds like there's a decent base for cottage/shepherd's pie.

I had buffalo boneless wings that I bought from the local grocery and mac and cheese that I made from Alton Brown's recipe. I'll follow it up in a bit with Key Lime sherbet.

About to eat some Thanksgiving leftovers: sweet potato casserole, hashbrown casserole, dressing, turkey, cornbread, and for dessert some pecan pie.

Finished up our Thanksgiving planned overs with turkey tettrazini. The guys must have enjoyed everything this year as it was the biggest turkey I've made in awhile and I didn't get nearly has much planned over meat as I have in years past. So no cubed turkey in two cup measure going into the freezer this year.

Guns, I understand that there is no proof of a relationship, but I was always told to avoid dairy products when sick, epecially to avoid mucus. Do you have any chicken soup or anything similar to break up congestion?

I am hoping we go out for Mexican. If not it will be something with chicken or ground beef.

I'm defrosting a couple of chuck steaks that I froze with the balsamic steak marinade poured over it before freezing. So as it defrosts, it marinades.
Baked potatoes with butter and sour cream and sauted broccoli florets to round out the meal.

Chicken Neapolitan, which is angel hair pasta, grilled chicken, mushrooms, and marinara sauce.

^that sounds good!
Tonight I experimented, and it had potential but was definitely NOT right!
Made potato and carrot mash (with added olive oil, lemon juice, and lots of chopped fresh parsley). Added too much lemon juice. served with butter - should have made a gravy.
served with broccholi (hard to get that wrong

)
and pork chops, grilled until done then topped with layers of grated cheddar, chopped fresh sage, and bramley apple sauce. I cheated using the apple sauce, cos I had half a jar left in the fridge - it would've been much better if I'd bought a Bramley apple and chopped that. The sauce was too sweet.
Ah well, I'll know better next time!

If I can talk Hyperception into going out, I want to hit the buffet at I <3 NY Pizza again. The mussles marinara on the buffet was excellent!!
...but just is case, I'm defrosting meat sauce for spaghetti...
