Chess, I have rarely played scrabble. I have a chess app on my phone with the computer opponent set on "imbecile" and have won hundreds of games awarding me with hours of fun.


Small talk or silence?

Silence. Never been good at small talk. Never understood why some people find silence uncomfortable.


Cover of a song you like by a band you hate, or cover of a song you hate by a band you like?

Probably the 2nd one - at least there could be a chance they could rework it so that it's bearable.

Go to a concert of a new band with a few songs you really like, or an old band that hasn't produced anything in the last decade or two, but you loved them back in the day?

Probably the old band, since they won't tour forever and I'd be sorry if I missed it.


Poe or Lovecraft?

Poe. I have very little exposure to Lovecraft.


You Really Got Me...Kinks or Van Halen?

The Kinks version is what pops into my mind automatically. (And is now stuck there. Thanks.)


All Along the Watchtower - Dylan or Hendrix?

I'm partial to the Hendrix version, more guitar, less harmonica!

Hurt - Nine Inch Nails or Johnny Cash?

I'll go with the Cash version.


Spielberg 1977 or Spielberg 2017?

Spielberg 1977, since I don't think I've seen anything he was involved in this year.


Listen to music through headphones, or speakers?

Headphones, provided they are comfortable. Speakers are nice but its difficult to pick out all of the subtle tones and sounds of a recording without blasting the speakers to an uncomfortable level, even really awesome speakers.


Wheat Chex or Corn Chex?

Corn Chex is my go-to Chex. I find it tastier. I just finished a box last week.

Marvel or DC?

Started on DC, but likes Marvel better.

New cars, Old cars, or Vintage cars?

At the moment I'm in the market for a new car though I find vintage cars fascinating.

House Lannister or House Harkonnen?

I read that as House Lannister vs. House Harkonnen, and I'll be honest - I would read or watch that. Probably House Lannister, though I do need to reread Dune in the not-too-distant future.


2D movies or 3D movies?

I see more 2D films but I prefer 3D.

Sam Raimi or Tim Burton?

They've both made good movies. They've both made bad movies. Sam Raimi's bad movies can be fun to watch. Tim Burton's bad movies are just bad.


Low budget movie with actors you like, or high budget movie with actors you're indifferent to?

Low budget so long as the subject is still interesting.


Astronomy or Astrology?

Astronomy. I used to work at a bookstore where the person/people who did the database clearly did not know the difference between the two. It bugged the heck out of me.


Watch TV/movies on your computer, or an actual TV?

I much prefer watching films on my Television. I've tried both and the experience on my laptop or tablet is just too confining. Its okay to pass the time waiting for my car to be serviced though.

Reading a trilogy or a story confined to a single book?

Depends on the story and the author. There are a lot of trilogies out there that would have been better if they'd been 1-2 books. There are also a lot of trilogies that I wanted to never end. In general, if I like the material, more is better.


Watch or skip all the extra features on DVDs?
