Technically quatloos are only used as units of value by "The Providers" of the planet Triskelion and using them elsewhere would only cause headaches for non primary evolutionary beings.

Having said that it's possible they are spending gold pressed latinum in some Orion casino somewhere which is a shameful use of one's paycheck. But who am I to judge?

Latinum is just platinum without the "p", so it's not that impressive. Creds are just a standardized bitcoin and seem a little fishy. Kirk opened up Triskelion to potential trade. Maybe people saw quatloos as a more stable alternative. Then again, the Amnion are really lazy. They probably just stole the name.

I am still hoping that Av will take my bait and click my link on the other thread, and for that exigency I am posting a reminder of how this game is played in case Av doesn't know / doesn't remember / doesn't sufficiently care about the ins and outs of "Guess The Next Poster":

Ok, here is how it's played. I guess who is next to post in THIS thread, the next person then says if I'm right and then guesses the next poster. HOWEVER, if you click on this thread you have to post. So say I guess Dukkha will post next, and danlo reads the post, he HAS to reply, and I am then wrong as danlo posted.
I may end up updating this post to keep a tab on who is correct the most.

Anyways, since I'm hoping Av will come here when he wakes up, I definitely have to guess someone not-Av, to spite the Murphy's Law faeries.

So, to that end, I'll pick... ohhhhh... Sky then tOM!

The blue stuff is banned, because you end up insulting a bunch of Klingons then wake up the day after next to your chief engineer and a random expendable crewmember wearing nothing but an eyepatch and grape jelly.

The green stuff is probiotic, but also causes a mild hallucination where you barbecue your favorite pokemon in a mango and jalapeno sauce. A bit spicy, but well worth it.
