Which explains your sense of humor...

Having a laid-back day today. Batty and Shara_Lunison both went to work this morning (please send up prayers and good thoughts for Batty, who is working in the Wal*Mart toy department on Black Friday...) so Magickmaker and I are hanging out at their apartment, picking at Thanksgiving leftovers. 8)

We had plenty of bumps and bruises in our time. My Gran even tells a story of how my sister was skipping around their house and I was in my playpen and kept crying/howling randomly until finally my uncle realized my sister was whacking me in the head with a block every time she went past me out of sight of the adults. I turned out ok.... wait nevermind, rush that child to the hospital now before he goes the cammy jenn route! 8O

I started off my day slicing my hand open on the glass door of the medicine cabinet in a bad way. I did it just before leaving for work and it bled for almost an hour. I got to work and it was a madhouse. It stayed a madhouse. Now I am cranky and exhausted. AND I get to go do it all over again tomorrow. Ugh.

Hope your hand is better now, Jenn....

The netbook crapped out on me over the weekend -- something about a bad sector on the hard disk that's making it virtually impossible to boot Windows. I ran System Restore twice (after the usual screaming fit ), discovered the "bad sector" issue, and decided it's time to turn it over to a professional. Luckily the machine is still under warranty. But it seriously put a crimp in my usual and customary Thanksgiving weekend plans -- i.e., the holiday cards are signed, but not stuffed and sealed because I couldn't get the letter done. Gotta do that tomorrow, and without my usual helpers. :(

But the good news is that I'm home after a good visit with the girls. And book club is cancelled tomorrow so I can sit back and relax. 8)

Yep.
14 degrees F is pretty cold for November.
Glad I'm currently at 75 degrees F (23.8888 degrees C).

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

Lots of snow here (for us), about 6-7 inches with more forecast for overnight.

Just what I need when I need to leave at 6am for work, before anyone else in the street has created tracks for me. Should be an interesting journey to work.

Been out with the neighbours clearing as much as we can, but it still looks like it could be touch and go getting out of our cul-de-sac tomorrow.

It's time for my annual Nutcracker Suite rampage. I am EMBARRASSED to be an American at this time of year. Not only are other countries mortified by our materialistic culture and practices at Christmas but they are laughing at us because we seem to think that the Nutcracker Suite is about Christmas because it happens to take place after a Christmas party. Heads up people! The story is about a young girl's sexual awakening! Once more, the plot line:

Happens to be a Christmas party. Young girl is sent to bed but sneaks back down to watch the girls that are of marriageable age get courted by the boys. She's busted and sent back to bed where she promptly has a dream that she is attacked by giant mice. She is rescued by a handsome guy in a British officer uniform who promptly climbs into her bed and they go flying around the world watching traditional dances from other countries at the end of which they share a very intimate and sensual grande finale dance number.

SEX! HELLO! Wake the hell up AMERICA and stop embarrassing the rest of us by pretending to be cultured and only performing the ballet during the Christmas season!!!!!! YEESH! I think I'm going to write a ballet/symphony about a December/May gay S&M leather daddy relationship and have them meet at a Mother's Day picnic and see if it becomes a national Mother's Day tradition. Or maybe I'll write one about child molestation and have it start at an Easter Egg hunt and see if it becomes an Easter tradition here in the states. GAH! Sorry but that really irks me to no end.

Ok, tirade over. Thanks for listening. 8)

Holiday cards are out, gift list is finalized, date for Yule tree purchase has been decided upon. I'm ready. :)

As I am fed up of my posts not appearing in the First & Second Chronicles Gallery, I am up loading any new artwork on to the DeviantArt website as well as moving my older works too. A search for hugh-of-bone at the website should find my artwork.

They appear. Or at least, the posts are actually there. It's just that the index doesn't update to reflect them, due to server errors.

Had a long crappy shift at work today, but my flatmate (and best friend) made my day with this beauty:

Her: "I need to sort my shit out."
Me: "What do you mean by that?"
Her: "I'm going to poo and organize it into categories."

:haha:

Tired as hell. Pulled an allnighter (ha, Mozilla offers "bullfighter," "lamplighter," and "moonlighter" as correct spellings. I would've gone with alligator, myself. would add the hyphen but that would now defeat the point) writing this semester's last term paper. Only 3 finals and a portfolio revision left. Woo hoo!

Wondering how Magickmaker's doing on her thesis, but am too afraid to ask, for fear it'll stall any forward momentum.

I'm coming to the conclusion that I hate my job. Every time I'm gone for more than a weekend, I'm totally depressed about having to go back to work. I think that's a red flag. Guess I'll start job hunting after New Year's....

I did a good thing today. An old friend of mine appraoched me in a bad place. I chatted with him, was able to help him out and make him feel better. That made me feel good about myself.
