Well, lemmee tell 'ya story 'bouta man name Jed...

Theme songs can get stuck in your head and stuck in the cultural fabric.
Some go on to be hit singles.
I heard the above song is called 'The ballad of Jed Clampett' and was a song before the series existed-does anyone know?
Does anyone have tidbits about other 'theme songs' Any favorites or anything to say about music in television shows?
I always liked 'Law and Order' theme song...

The theme song for the TV show The Guardian is really cool. Don't know the name of it but its sung by The Wallflowers. :)

The theme from Smallville...It's "Save Me" by Remy Zero. Sounds a little like Radiohead lite.

It seems that every Trek lover except me hates the theme of Enterprise. Don't know why, because I love it.

And here's an old classic:

Welcome back
Your dreams were your ticket out
Welcome back
To that same old place that you laughed about

Where the names have all changed since you hung around
And the dreams have remained, but they're turned around

Who'd o' thought we'd need ya
(Who'd o' thought we'd need ya)
back. Yeah, well we need ya
(back. Yeah, well we need ya)
Well we tease him a lot
'cause we got him on the spot
Welcome back

Yeah! I love the Sanford and son song!
There was a local band here that always played and totally jammed on it!

Man I would love to hear a local band jam on Sanford and Son.

I always liked McGiver(sp?). I was the only one to guess it in a "Name that theme song" game once.

Ballad of Jed Clampett - Flat & Scruggs. They might have written it for the show.

For some reason, I have the Hawaii Five-O theme song, a real classic, running through my head.

Manic Street Preachers covered Theme From M*A*S*H in about 1993 for a charity record, their version is nicely dark and moody. I always thought the theme from Nash Bridges was pretty cool, any show with Don Johnson in has to have a cool tune though. He may not be on TV much anymore, but he`s still got it. That and 8 billion dollars in the trunk of his car, apparently.

There was a band I used to like and go see called "Man or AstroMan?" out of Atlanta who made up the theme song for Space Ghost Coast to Coast. They also did a cover of The Munsters theme song which was really cool.

Anybody know who does the Charmed theme?

Nope. Pretty sure Nerfherder does the themesong for Buffy, but...

Call me childish, but I think my favorite theme songs are from shows like Animaniacs, Freakazoid, The Muppet Show, etc.

I had that song stuck in my head for ages when Charmed first starting screening. I love it. It's called How Soon Is Now? by Love Spit Love. You can find it on The Craft Soundtrack.
