Me being a minister?

www.themonastery.org/?destination=ordination

(Yes, I am fully ordinated as a minister now)

EDIT-I just want to say, although the topic seems in fun I really am curious about the toughts you guys have about this. I'm not quite sure if it has any legal backing yet but I'm trying to find out. Not because I'm planning to marry anyone at 17 years of age. I'm planning on a few divorces and confessions. No, in all seriousness, I'm curious.

Hmmmm..... I gotta check this group out! :)

I used to own atheistchurch.com (geocities.com/atheistchurch/ the email address there no longer exists), but I got damned few visitors. I haven't looked at that in some years now. I'd likely reword some things here and there, but I doubt I'd change anything in it. Maybe explain something or other a little better. Of course, I wasn't offering ordination, wasn't recognized by the law, etc. But if there had been any interest, and things had built, it would have been cool!

I'm already a Pope and a Deity, ordained by the House of the Apostles of Eris, so whatever floats your boat. ;)

HEH!! That's amusing Av! But, Holesty, follow your heart, follow your spiritual convictions, don't sway from what you believe. Many in the future may come to depend on what you can teach them, help them in some very bad times. My personal opinion, God bless, go forth to thy work.............

I am now a Reverend!

I didn't give them my real address though... God knows what they might try and do. Anyway, the site must be a joke. Takes years of studying at Uni n stuff to get to be a Minsiter, it took me 5 minutes.

Unfortunately, as far as I know the site could well be real... after all, the whole concept of examination in order to obtain the "degree" depends on the examiner, and they may easily find loopholes. Additionally, since this is a splinter group, not the Catholic Church, they could just as easily make their own decision on how one becomes a minister. If you read the FAQs, it says that you're only recognized as a minister in the U.S. and in Canada, if I recall correctly, because their group isn't recognized as a full-fledged religion in other countries.

What Xar said. No joke. I've been ordained for a few years now... I can't say that I've made much of it. I'm a lazy minister. Ahh well.

Also, Quee, you give them your address so if you ever need to preform anything and need noterized certificates they can send them to you. No one's ever contacted me about it. /shrug

Anyone wanna get married? For a limited time only you can have the Waddley Special. I'll say some words, slap ya on the tush, and pronounce you as married. That's about as special as it gets.

In John 10:34 was wrote:I tell you, and it is written in your own law, that you are gods.
Heinlein wrote:Thou art god.
Uh, anybody not getting this? :D You don't need ministers.
