Vain,

Just a thought...Without a way to IM someone it's exceedingly difficult to get a chat going. Any chance of creating an Instant Message function or an "invitation to chat?"

When I want to try to get people into the chatroom I fire off personal messages to any people I see signed on at that time. Seems to usually work.

One suggestion for the chat... think we could get rid of that auto away thing?

I can increase the time delay before it shows you as away.....would that work?

The chat thingy isn't really intended as a full-scale chat-room - it's possible to implement one that is but it won't be integrated with the forum which has its own draw-backs. I currently have no idea just how often the chat-room is used and by whom so if you guys want to provide that detail as part of this thread then it'll be great - I can then get an idea of what might be needed

Also, list your biggest problem with this version

There's been a crowd of people in chat the last 2 Sat nights.

It's been a lot of fun.

If you make any changes, Vain, just a reminder that I can't use any chat set-up that requires Java - at least now right now. Hopefully that will change eventually, but for now that's how it stands.

I finally got my chat-box to work without it crashing IE, but the lag time is pretty bad...don't spose the immortal Vain can fix that?

I'll be going to Uni in sep. Depending on whether I can get into a room with internet, my activity here may go down a little. Of course, if I'm really lucky I may actually get a social life, heh. *is never gonna happen*

So Vain is gonna update it soon, you say? I don't use chat much, but I wouldn't mind seeing it improved during my occasional chats...
