Zelda: Twilight Princess

Who's getting the new Zelda, eh? It's on the horizon, whether it be in its Wii form or the GameCube iteration.
Since I'm too cheap to own a Wii, I'll probably just buy a GameCube and Twilight Princess. I really, really want this game. It's probably just Ocarina of Time 2.0, but dammit, that ain't bad.

I really, really want a Wii. But all my funds are otherwise tied up right now, so I'll probably just get it for CG as well. And I'd be psyched to have an Ocarina 2.0. Really, I could never get enough of Link.

I'm not sure if the Wii controls will work as well as a classic controller, and I'm all about having perfect control in a Zelda game. I remember being awed by how miraculous the N64 control was in Ocarina. In any case, I'm sure both versions will have superb handling, but I'm hedging my bets with the GameCube.
I read on wikipedia that in the Wii version Link is right-handed (because most Wii people will be right-handed, I guess). That sounded a little blasphemous to me, as Link has always been a leftie.
Funnily enough, all the dungeons (and even cutscenes) have been inverted for the Wii version, because the original GameCube version was built for a left-handed Link.*
* The GC version will have a left-handed Link.

That's not right! I always loved Link cause he was in the cool kids leftie club like me! Now I HAVE to play it on the GC. Wii can go suck an egg!
...
I love you, Wii, I love you, Wii, I love you, Wii, I love you, Wii, I love you, Wii, I love you, Wii, I love you, Wii, I love you, Wii, I love you, Wii, I love you, Wii, I love you, Wii, I love you, Wii, I love you, Wii, I love you, Wii, I love you, Wii, I love you, Wii, I love you, Wii, I love you, Wii, I love you, Wii, I love you, Wii, I love you, Wii, I love you, Wii...

I'd get a Wii...if I could afford one. Sadly, student finances won't stretch that far.

I'll probably get it at some point, but not right away. I got way too much at school keeping me busy right now. Plus, I still have FF12 and Xenosaga 3 to play, heh.
I'll probably wait until the new year to get the Wii. Or until the new Super Smash Bros comes out.
Oh, and personally, I though OoT was overrated. I just like to say that since I usually feel like the only person in the whole world who doesn't think it was the best game ever.

Oh, Jay, I definiely don't think it's the best game ever *cough*Ico*cough* but I think... it's probably my favorite Zelda. Probably, because the first one will always hold a very dear place in my heart. Well, I also like oracle of seasons and the other one for gameboy... but anyway... OoT was nummy.

I've always thought Link's Awakening was the best. Followed by probably Link to the Past.
And I though Majora's Mask had a fun plot idea, even if the rest of it was lame.
But yeah, OoT never did it for me. Not even in my Top 10 Games.-jay

As far as favorite Zelda games, I'd have to go with Link to the Past, bar none. Heck--it's probably my favorite anything. I've waxed about it in enough threads already.

I had a Wii, but I sold it on eBay. My Wii was huge, despite what the Nintendo President said about it!

I really loved OoT at first, but when I came back to it a year or two later I couldn't understand what I ever saw in it. Hmm.
Personally, I really like Majora's Mask. I find it far superior to OoT. I haven't played another game that uses time in anything like that way.

Chrono Trigger = best time-themed game for the win. DAMN IT! Yet another Zelda thread morphs into a Chrono thread.

It's official: I'm getting a GameCube at the end of the semester for this game. December is going to be heavenly bliss--similiar to December 1998, when I gorged on Ocarina of Time.
Wow, that was almost 10 years ago.
I'm also getting Paper Mario and Resident Evil 4. It'd be a crime not to, as they're only 19.99$ a piece. Metroid Prime is already on its way via the mail, of course.
Might get Tales of Symphonia and Soul Calibur II later on (very fond memories of Soul Calibur on the Dreamcast).

Prime was great. SC2 is good too. I had mixed feelings about ToS. The battle system was pretty fun, but the plot was ultra lame.
But you have to get Smash Bros. You have to. Or else.-jay

Well, I could never get into the N64 version. This is because Foul plays alone 95% of the time, and they say Smash Bros. is 10x more fun in multiplayer. I recognized the game's greatness--just never got to experience it properly.
If the single-player in Melee is improved over the original, I'll get it, but I think I'll be perfectly happy with just Soul Calibur.

If I were you, Foul, I wouldn't bother. I find the single-player in Melee inferior to the original.

Heh. Although I guess you're both right. SSB is the kind of game that's 100 times better with people to play with.
I've just become so obsessed with it, that I love playing it by myself. Heh.
Well, I'd still recommend Metroid Prime. Wind Waker was also kinda fun. There are a bunch of other GC games I'd probably recommend that were fun. Pikmin was a cute little game. Like I said, ToS was kind of addicting. I can't think of any others off the top of my head, but I think there are some more must plays.-jay
