So, anyone got any tips on how in the world to make your avatar 18KB or less, and still keep the size of the image when you actually LOOK at it on the Watch? Really need a hand here.

If you use KevinsWatch's avatar system you are severely limited in your avatar size.

Use an image hosting site like : img518.imageshack.us

If you have another page like above to "host" the pic you can forget about that 18K limitation.

BUT first you need to make sure your pic is not larger than 150 pixels width by 200 pixels high.
Any bigger and it messes everything up!

You need some kind of imaging software to do that though.
I use Photoshop and I'm not sure what can be done with other programs.
I'm sure there are free ones out there but if you want me to shrink it for you just let me know and email it to me.

So once you have the pic the right size you go to imageshack.
There you will see a "browse" button.
Use that to find the pic on your hard drive.
Then click "host it"
Imageshack copies it and hosts it online for you.

The page will change and you will be given several bla bla bla.com/balon's pic type of options.

What you want is the last one "Direct link to image"

Highlight that whole thing, for example:
(keep in mind this pic is huge and not allowed for an avatar)

Ok, now go back to Kevin'sWatch.
In your Profile page paste the address you copied into the "Link to off-site Avatar:" space.
Then click "submit"

The pic you want from your hard drive should now be your avatar.

PM me if you have any questions.

There are image tools that can reduce the number of colors in an image, making them smaller. I use LVIEWPRO, which is free. The principle would be the same for other utilities.

You could also off-site your avatar, for example on www.imageshack.net. Then you have no size limit. That's what all the people who feel inadequate without a huge avatar do. :0)
