Elohimfest 2007

The recent thread about an Austrailian 'fest made me realize - if we're going to plan some kind of get-together for 2007, we should start talking about it now.
I still say the best place for this is Albuquerque, and would also hope to have help from Romeo in trying to get SRD to make an appearance. In other words, I'd like a repeat of Elohimfest 2004.
Let the discussions begin......
(edit - update to add poll options for either San Francisco or Albuquerque.)

That'd be cool - especially since it's the 30th aniversary of LFB. We could have our own little birthday celebration for it - bring presents, wear hats, have cake, etc. And if we don't tell LFB, we could turn it into a surprise party! Can someone volunteer to take it to a movie or something beforehand so we can get set up?
I don't know what Steve's schedule is, but I'm sure he wouldn't mind making a dinner-and-interview appearance.
Are any months / dates better than others for you, Danlo?

Hey Romeo didn't invite him last time!!!

May and June are great months here, but alot of stuff happens in late May/early June especially with school letting out--we can put up 2 here, 3 if we do our remodeling...

Could we time it to coincide with the release of Fatal Revenant somehow? It'd be cool if the Fest is where we get our copies of FR...
That would make it Octoberish.
(Thinking about my FF miles...)

If May/June are the best choices, youngest daughter graduates high school at the end of May 2007, so June would work better for me.
Actually, both the girls will be in college in the fall of 2007, so any time after the end of August would work for me, too. Dunno about others, though -- with school being in session in October, it could make it tough for folks to come.
I am SO coming to Elohimfest 2007, whenever it is!

That would be great except we don't know the exact date of release, and if you'll recall there were a couple of delays before ROTE was released.
I should be good with just about any time, just need a few weeks advance notice.

If we do this here, and we do it in June we better start planning BIG time. I think my film crew can do a better job this year, we can find a better venue, without so much traffic in the background. Perhaps we can even get Robert Vardeman or G. R. R. Martin as master of ceremonies for the 30th anniversary of LFB. I need to start working with the Bubonicon people on this as well--the T-Shirts will be real cool! I need your help again aTOMiC!
Tell you what Romeo, you work on SRD and I'll try to get a message to Martin, somehow. If we have over 20 confirmed I'll talk to David Stienberg the literary editor of the Albq. Journal about doing a big celebration piece.

Hmm. . would love to come, but am already wondering if I will have enough vacation time and money for my prior committments.

IF I make it to FBH wrap party, I won't be able to make this. *sigh*
Sounds like fun, though.

Hmm. June. Both girls will be out of school...we could drive!...*or* I could leave the girls at home since they'll both be over 18 by then, and fly in by myself...but if I don't have the kids as a cover, I'll need a place to stay -- not sure how the ex-mother-in-law would feel about putting up just me...hey Danlo, if I bring my tent, can I camp in your yard?

I will try. Let's say I'm like 79% in. It's all about money for me. I don't care when it is, I just need to know early enough in advance that I can afford plane tickets.

we could fit about two tents in the backyard. If Wadds shows up I may just drop dead from the sight of her!

I'm not real, danlo. Remember? You don't have to worry about that at all. Just play along with dAN's (err- my) little game, and tell me when it will be. Kosher?

You know I
really shouldn't have watched MI: III this weekend. I can envision Wadds tearing off one of those masks at my front door to reveal dAN with a real chit-eatin' grin on his face.

I've got a 3-person tent (which sleeps 2, in other words) and a 4-person tent (which, IOW, sleeps 3). I could bring one or both. We actually had 3 in the 3-person tent last summer and it was extreeeeemely cozy....

You don't need Martin as a Master of Ceremonies.
You need a LOREMASTER OF CEREMONIES!
