Dark Tower Comic

Post by Roland of Gilead »

I picked up the free promotional DT sketchbook last night. There's not a lot there, plot-wise, but the artwork is sensational. This Jae Lee, I think, is going to do it justice. :D

Some of the artwork makes me think, though, that the story is going to be a rehash of the flashback events in Wizard and Glass. I hope I'm wrong - I want something brand new from Roland's early life!!! :?

I understand it will be BOTH...not a rehash, but a filling in of the blanks and totally new material too!

Hey Roland...do you frequent King or DT boards at all? This is my only home...

I check King's official website every couple of weeks. (By the way, King has dusted off an old manuscript called Blaze, originally intended as a Bachman novel, and he has revised it. He expects to have it finished by the end of the year, so hopefully it will see publication in 2007. Also he's working on another novel called Duma Key.)

But I'm on any DT or King forums. I do frequent several other forums, though, so I really should add a King forum into my repertoire. :P

( This is sort of like watching that Gollum-talking-to-Gollum scene in The Two Towers ... )

Wayfriend, you've totally lost me with that comment. And I've seen the LotR films a dozen times.

If you mean two people talking about the same subject back and forth, isn't that what can happen on any thread of any forum? Assuming that nobody else chooses to chime in? :?: :?: 8O

Gotcha.

I was having a senior moment. Which is pretty bad for a 53 year old. :P

Hi guys (well, maybe just the two Gollums here) :)

Richard Isanove, the preeminent colorist who is digitally painting over Jae Lee's pencils, is signing copies of The Gunslinger Born seven-issue series over at The Signed Page. So if you like collecting King stuff... well... there ya go. :)

Pass the word to people about it, please. I want to tap out the alotted quantity Richard has set down.

I highly recomend the comic. It's great, and at around four bucks, it's no more expensive than anything else.
Spoiler
It portrays Roland taking out Cort with David his hawk with really well done artwork.

I can't believe you guys are posting this here, when you could be posing it in the Comic Forum!
When the man with a 45 meets the man with a rifle, you said the man with a pistol is a dead man. Let's see if it's true.

This came up during a SK interview about the future of the Dark Tower comic. But it's not about the Dark Tower comic, so I am posting it in the SK forum. It *may* deserve it's own thread, but I'll put it here.

All I can say is that I'll read it when he sends it to me for free.

And yes this deserves its own topic.

God damn. He should change his name to George Lucas and have done.

Here's to hoping he can alter the outcome of the Mordred/Flagg interaction...

Is he serious?

I loved the series, but im not shelling out for another 7 hardbacks with minor differences.

PS what he going to change about mordred?
But if you're all about the destination, then take a fucking flight.
We're going nowhere slowly, but we're seeing all the sights.
And we're definitely going to hell, but we'll have all the best stories to tell.

Full of the heavens and time.

He confirmed the "rewrite" comment in another interview on the same website.
