Daily Kindnesses Thread

The world sometimes can really suck, and there are a lot of people out there who can be selfish and cruel some (or even most) of the time. :(

But the world can also be a place of great beauty, and people can be generous and kind beyond any measure.

What beauty have you seen today? Which kindness from one person to a stranger?

One kind act I saw today was a Bluegrass band come into the hospital where I work. They set up a concert in the lobby of the nursing home for the veterans. The veterans were brought out in their wheelchairs to watch the musicians and hear the music. The band was actually very good. You should have seen the way the patients' faces glowed as they heard the band play. :hearts:

I like this thread.

Yesterday my girls brought me a picture they made for me.

My son also came in and told me I was beautiful. I tell him that is why I keep him. ;)

Every day my dad does kindness. He tends to my mom with her Alzhimers, takes her to church everyday to make her happy and they go to a nursing home 2 times a week. Now that mom can't do a reading, songs, and bring communion to them, they show gospel videos.

I make it a point to tell my wife every day that I lover her and how pretty she is.

Also, i make it a point to tell my kids how proud they make me.

AND I cuddle my pooch every day.

AND I always hold the door for ladies who enter a room (sexism be DAMNED!)

I love that my husband opens doors for me, including the car door. It is such a nice courtesy - so gentlemanly. :hearts:

Agreed Duchess.... political correctness shall never stand in the way of simple chivalry.

Something I always try to do is let people in during heavy traffic. That courtesy is not often returned, but yesterday it sure was!

While I've been looking for a car during the last week or so, my brother has driven me everywhere. Up to 50 miles away for a car I wasn't even sure about. He's put up with my indecision, my bitching, and my relentless questions with a kind of tolerance that I could never expect from someone else. Without a doubt, he deserves some sort of reward...

I bought him pizza yesterday... maybe I should think bigger.

Perhaps pizza and some wine. Maybe a movie?

I was working day before yesterday, and amongst all the foaming animalistic people looking for God-knows-what at Best Buy, this guy allowed me to start a normal conversation with him. We must halve talked for almost fourty five minutes.

It was SO NICE having a normal person/person conversation in retail.

Yay. :D
