Forgive me if this has already been about. I'm not a GRRM fan¹.

I am jealous on Stephen R Donaldson's behalf.

¹ Because I read one of his books.

Yeah, I just read the news this morning on AICN. I'm excited about it. I am a fan of the books, though the criticisms I've seen have some validity.

I left a note in the talkback about filming the Gap series, encouraging people to read it and back me up. Just doin' my part as Donaldson's biggest fan! :)

Guess I'm going to have to pony up for HBO pretty soon. Sweet!

NO. FREAKING. WAY.

Now, once they make the Gap a series, I can die a happy girl.

A happy, happy girl indeed.

OMG!!!

*does a happy dance*

Good God!

I am moving to USA to be able to watch this.

I wonder who they are casting.

I know. That's what I can't wait to see. Should we start an "Ideal ASoI&F Casting" thread?

That is seriously cool. I can't get the link to work - does it say anything about casting?

(Might have to break down and get HBO..)

A Casting thread sounds good, the link doesnt say anything about the cast sorus.

I'd cast Tom Cruise as Tyrion.

Nope, not yet.

Also there isn't word of it on Martin's web page yet... /sigh. If this is fake I'm going to cry.

What's extemely cool about this--what gives me hope--is that Martin himself will be helping in writing the screenplay. This is where he got his start: writing for TV. He should be pretty good at translating his own work for TV.

Oh, man, it's going to be pretty awesome seeing Bran get hucked off the tower. I can't freaking wait!

Wow, I'm not sure what scene I'd most like to see - time for a re-read!

Parris has confirmed it, apparently he'll put a blog up about it soon.

This is great news! Had thought about dropping HBO since we rarely watch it but I think I can hold off of that!

And Warmark, something as drastic as a move to the US isn't warrented (not that you wouldn't be anything but welcome!) Unless it totally tanks it will get released on DVD.

Who knows, maybe if this works HBO could turn their attention to other authors, maybe SRD. HBO would be a good venue for Covenant.
