Why wasn't Terrel with Mhoram when he met the Raver

I'm sure this has been asked numerous times but its been a while since I was on the Watch so I have forgotten and can't find a post for it.
In the Illearth War when Mhoram told Covenant that he had made a sojourn near Fouls Creche he had encountered what he thought was an Urvile Loremaster but when it laid its hand on him he realised it was a Raver, he said all the Bloodguard with him were slain. Well since Terrel was the Bloodguard who warded Mhoram, why was he not with him then? If he had he would have died but he obviously didn't, so wht would have made him leave his side, especially as he had guarded him for over 40 years!

A long time ago I asked this question, it's been years but I'll see if I can find the post. We had a good discussion on it at the time.

Well, Terrel is not a new Bloodguard.
In The Illearth War was wrote:"Korik is among the most senior of the Bloodguard." The Lord seemed to be digressing, avoiding something that he hesitated to say. "With Tuvor, Morin, Bannor, and Terrel, he commanded the original Haruchai army which marched against the Land -marched, and met High Lord Kevin, with the Ranyhyn and the Giants, and was moved by love and wonder and gratitude to swear the Vow of service which began the Bloodguard.
So we can dismiss any theory that Terrel is a replacement for another Bloodguard slain by the ur-viles during Mhoram's journey to Foul's Creche.

That leaves, Terrel didn't go, or Terrel went but was seperated from Mhoram at the time the ur-viles descended upon them.
