good news imo. no film could even come close to the depth & true spirit of any of the TC books.

Here's what both postings say:
"Fatal Revenant" D&A
Both Orion/Gollancz and Putnams/Ace have just declared "delivery and acceptance" for "Fatal Revenant". This surprises me, since my editors haven't yet had time to read the third draft. But it does mean that my publishers are firmly committed to releasing the book in October.

This news ROCKS!! The other...not so good...
"Covenant" film news: it's over.
The producers who optioned "Lord Foul's Bane" have tried everything they could think of, without success. Now their option has expired, and they have declined to renew it. Bury it now, folks, 'cause it's dead.
...For NOW, that is. Someone else will pick up the option. The production team of CaammJenn/Gunslinger perhaps?

This makes me very sad.
This is not unexpected. But I was enjoying being hopeful.
The good news is, we can buy the rights and make the movie now. I'll call Hugh. Can someone send word to Josh Holloway? Wait, we won't need him until the second movie ... see, we need a producer! Who wants to be the producer?

Oooh! Me! Choose me!
Wait, can I play someone instead?? I'd rather act that produce! And I'm not so young that a rape scene would cause controversy. Yay for the rape scene!

Maybe we should nominate some watchers for various roles.

How much would the options cost? Anybody have any ideas?

Probably not as much as making a movie would cost.
I'm just guessing.

You would have to negotiate with SRD's agent Howard and he's pretty tough. I met him. However, I do have connections so we may be able to broker the rights pretty well. First we need some financial backing though.

Wayfriend is officially key grip. I do a bit of directing as well as the camera work. I also edit and cast and organize shoots and screenplay write etc. Although for this I think someone else should definitely screenwrite.
