How many of you here enjoy a drop of wine? I'm not a big wine drinker myself but I have been known to have the odd glass or two.
My favourite wines are sweet and bubbly ones. But I do love to sip port every now and again.
Recently while holidaying near Gladstone (an area not known for wine production) I visited a local winery and I purchased the most magnificent Liqueur Shiraz, a perfect accompaniment for cheeses. And you wouldn't believe it....it tastes a lot like chocolate.

For those of you who consider themselves connoisseurs, I found a nifty site designed to test your wine knowledge, www.wineeducation.org/quiz/QuizB/quizB.html

I scored 7. :(

I don't drink a lot of wine but I like Pinot Grigio, a dry white wine. I don't like sweet wines.

I can't take your test, Infelice. It won't come up for some reason.

I don't know much about wines, but I love reds. Give me a good Cabernet or Sangiovese (sp?) and I'm a happy girl. ;)

I've never cared for wine, but I have recently discovered a fondness for sangria.

Syl, on the subject of Sangria, I'm in total agreement with you. YUM :)

Re the test: I tried to take it again Damelon and it doesn't work for me either. I think it has something to do with your browser or something.

Sometimes the WWW gives me the willies. :x

I don't know much about wine, and only have an occasional glass at a restaurant or at a wedding, but I do know that I like white more than red, except for the locally produced fruit wines such as cherry wine, which is delicious. I like white zinfadel, and bubbly things like asti spumanti and champagne. It's something that I've always wanted to know more about. Maybe I'll take the one-day class at the community college someday. :)

Wine in a box... hmmmmm

I prefer to fill a large water bottle with wine, like Steve Martin in the movie "The Jerk" and I often put the lil umbrella in it too.

And none of that old wine... I want it fresh... this year’s vintage is all I’ll drink! And the nerve of some waiters, at these restaurants who keep offering me stale old wines from 10, 20 or even 30 years ago. Who do they think I am? Some blue collar working man?

I'm extremely conservative with alcoholic beverages, as well as anything that's not either spring water, milk, or orange and/or apple juice. Heck, only time you'll find me drinking anything wine-related is when I've got a glass of red to accompany a good steak or prime rib.
