I don't know if we have many people around here who like to read short fiction, as well as long form like novels. I've only gotten into short form in the past year or so, having read a few author collections, and later moved on to anthologies and magazines.
Anyway, I wanted to bring up one particular publishing venue for short SF work, and that's Clarkesworld Magazine. The magazine is produced by Clarkesworld Books and edited by author Nick Mamatas. Each month they publish two stories, one solicited from an established author, one from the slush pile, and they're dedicated to making sure each issue has something different to offer.
Stories are published for free online, and also in a chapbook edition available to order from the Clarkesworld store. This magazine is really worth checking out if you're interested in original, high quality short fiction; if you don't usually read short stories, you should still consider giving this a look.
