Kevin's Watch

A number of folks here are also members at my site, Ahira's Hangar where we discuss a number of Sci Fi and Fantasy authors in their own forums. After four years on the dreaded EZboard system we finally said enough and converted to phpBB. In fact we, kinda, look like the Watch now. The new address is ahirashangar.ihugny.com/phpBB2/index.php. The old board will be locked in about two weeks, but you can also find the new address there.

So no more intense graphics and contrasting colors!

Megathanks go Vain for converting the ENTIRE data base intact. All the forums, moderators and previous posts remain the same. Special thanks to Avatar and MsMaryMalone for their creative input during the move!

no it's only for preregistered members---certain deleted memberships have reappeared and they need might need to be deleted for security purposes...

I'm so happy that danlo has gotta clean and tidy things up I wouldn't know where to start

I'm locked out for the next 30 mins because of my password attempts, but I'll be there sometime later.

Also: giving away the default password means anyone could log in as any member, until they come long and change theirs--I expect that's what Syl means.


Edit: Now that I've been and looked around a little, I notice the topics are still displayed in an unusual order (a problem from back on the ezboard--they don't list by post date). Is there a way to fix that?

Yeah, I noticed that, too. I don't remember that being a problem on EZBoard, though - when I was logged in, they were always chronological, I think.

Thanks for posting this announcement here at the Watch, danlo. I've had my friggin head in the clouds for a few months now and I probably wouldn't have noticed until you were forced to PM me about the football picks in September. The Hangar looks great (never much liked the EZboard version. No one's fault there) it will be much easier to make a lot more casual post there. Very cool. (I promise my post count will not change here at KW though I know it has dropped off to almost nuthin the last 6 months or so.) I've also gone with aTOMiC at the Hangar instead of clearfrontier. FYI

Definitely an improvement - I may have to hang out there more now.....

One problem with the Hangar moving to phpBB is that when the Watch was down for a few hours last night, so was the Hangar.

But still, it was a good move.
